Dr. Stuart Howard Bender, MD

I owe Dr. Bender a huge debt of gratitude. He came into the office to meet me when I had a very difficult patient with me who had a large skin cancer. Dr. Bender's diagnosis helped me to get that patient to be treated for additional cancers. He has treated me very well and never forced me to buy those cleansers, they are there for your convenience. Driving to the drugstore is an additional 5 or 10 dollars worth of gas, and time managing your patient. It is your choice. I had bad insurance and he treated me.

I brought my special needs daughter to Bender's office through the Huskie Healthcare referral program. When I got there the little nitch at the desk "greeted" me. I was asked for a $30.00 co-pay. I showed the letter of referral I had and the little group at the desk had a quick meeting. We were ushered in to see a physician's assistant, not a doctor because we weren't worth a doctor's expertise. The little physician's assistant prescribed medicine that didn't result in a cure for my daughter's acne and we were back to square one. How shameful is this???

I had booked an appointment with Dr Bender's office a week in advance over the phone, and the receptionist had confirmed twice about my date. However when I went in today for my consultation, I was told that there was no appointment under my name. I told the person at the reception that my phone logs clearly showed that I had spoken to someone at Dr Bender's office last week. However that woman just shrugged her shoulders and said that there was nothing they could do. No apologies or any offers to re book for another day were offered. Dr Bender might or might not have been a good doctor, but the people working for him sure are unprofessional.

My elderly mother (now deceased) saw Dr. Bender for the first time. She had a debilitating itch combined with lumps all over. Not only did he not correctly diagnose the problem he SOLD HER TWO PHYSICIAN SAMPLES!! He sold her a tube of clobetosol cream for $15.00 as well as a tube of polysporin which is an over-the-counter cream for $6.00. As we left his office his nurse was slithering around after us to ensure we were going to pay $21.00 at the desk. What an outrage. It gauled him to have to accept Medicare, so he figured he would get even by ripping her off. As it goes, the clobetosol cream goes for $7.00 with a prescription and generic polysporin is around $1.99. This guy is a lousy doctor as well as a creep.

Dr. Bender is as sleazy as they get. I took my elderly mother to him with painful welts all over. He not only couldn't diagnose the problem but SOLD US A PHYSICIAN'S SAMPLE!! He sold us a tube of clobastasal cream for $15.00 and a tube of polysporin for $6.50. This guy rates top of the line in dishonesty.
