i agree with several other reviews for patients to read before they see this dr.he is emotionless, uncaring, rushed and does not address the orthopedic problem. just wants to get you out of his office. find a better knowledgeable orthopedic surgeon. this one is awful

Dr. Elkowitz is an outstanding physician. He took the initiative to follow up on my online booking explanation for the visit that was to occur in a few days. After he obtained my wrist x-rays from the ER, he called me and told me that I might require surgery. He told me to come to his office that afternoon. He then made sure that I had x-rays, EKG, pre-operative physical exam, and laboratory work done. I was cleared for surgery two days later. He did a great job, and the results seem to be excellent. He was just as clear, professional, and kind to the other patients in the recovery area as he was to me as a physician. I highly recommend him.

What a terrific experience! Dr. Elkowitz performed 2 surgeries on L wrist and elbow on 5/24/23. He took into consideration my medical history and was certain that I was extremely comfortable with both his recommendations and my anxiety! Day 3 post op I had complete reversal in my original problems. Granted, after any surgical procedure there will be some discomfort. I was concerned about the extent of pain. It actually wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. I've almost completed my OT and my strength, flexibility and pillar pain has greatly improved! As a nurse, I did my due diligence prior to my initial appointment with all research I could find as far as my conditions and Dr. Elkowitz! He is top notch and I would not hesitate seeking his advice again and have already recommended him to others. Thank you Dr. Elkowitz for "fixing" me!

I had high hopes because of his great reviews. I never leave reviews but I felt so affected by his abrasive emotionless attitude that I had to. I went for a possible carpal tunnel issue when I tried to speak he kept speaking over me, immediately minimized my concerns and was constantly trying to end the conversation and walk out. I had to speak quickly and my issues were said to not be a “big deal.” I even had to ask him what to do for pain if symptoms return. I was on time and his first appointment. He wasn’t interested. The nurses were wonderful and honestly he should take a page from their bedside manner book.

Dr. Elkowitz has been very proactive in diagnosing and treating my long-term bilateral wrist pain. He was the first doctor (of three and a physical therapist) that I saw to order imaging and give me a range of possible causes (other than repetitive-motion agitation). Through seeing him, I learned that whenever possible, to go directly to a specialist. After the confirmed diagnosis of occult ganglion cysts in both wrists, he offered two treatment options and left the decision entirely up to me. At present, he's surgically removed one of the cysts. Though there's still some minor sensitivity, the sharp jarring pain is completely gone. I also have full range of motion back and a clean scar. Per his prudent advise, I've waited to have surgery on the other wrist until I know it's worth the recovery time and outcome. He's punctual, cordial, and communicates concisely. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for help with wrist or arm pain and will return to him for treatment whenever… necessary!

I sliced my finger all the way to the joint in work and visited this doctor for a second opinion...which at first turn out to be ok seen that I had already got stitches from another doctor..he band up up finger and gave me a return date...after that he sent me to therapy....and then after all that I return to work....I started having a lot of pain and numbness on the same index finger and decided to go for a check up to see what is wrong....one of elcowits worker came in the room and asks me what's wrong and I told her my finger is going numb in work and when I'm doing regular stuff like reading or holding my phone....she said ohh how there's a certain way you hold a book and basically trying to tell me that nothing is wrong with my finger ....and she's not even a doctor!!! If I'm having pain and numbness then something is wrong!!! Mr elcowits came in and just took measurements and say everything is good and not..... I ask him what about the numbness and he said its PROBABLY a cut… nerve that is small and cannot be reconnected...then I ask him about the pain I'm having and he came up with an excuse of saying it's the cold weather.....its not I'm not stupid ...I feel a impression on the finger joint where the bone is damage and this guys just cares about collecting a diagnosis visit than actually doing some real test like re taking x Ray's and trying to figure out THE WHY!!!! And on my chart log in account he does not even put I have nerve damage or joint damage on my report...If my finger is paining when I do regular work and affecting my work ethics and going numb....then there is a problem I am going to find another doctor who actually care about doing further tests....and not just collecting a visit fee...its very ridiculous that doctors these days just want to collect a diagnosis fee instead of actually dwelling deep to find the core problem!!!
