Dr. Stuart B Himmelstein, MD

Dr. Himmelstein was my PCP for about 5 years. During the last 2 years his office has made several errors on referrals and appointments.. He has entered several things on my chart that I haven't said such as headaches and back pain?? I don't feel he is a very good listener and for the sake of my health I have decided to find another doctor.

I would never go back to this doctor again. I was new to the State of Florida and was recommended to Dr. Himmelstein by my healthplan. I was looking for a coordinator of care. I had to wait several weeks to get an appointment to get my annual physical, physician referrals and a handicap placard. I had already had a disabled placard from the previous state I lived in but had transferred my vehicle license and reg to Florida . I had melanoma surgery done on my right leg at which time I underwent a total lymph node dissection which left me with lymphadema. Dr. Himmelstein never asked for any medical records, nor did he even do an exam. All he did was tell me absurdly that I should push a cart and that there was no box for him to check on the dmv form. He also kept asking me why I was there. I kept repeating that i was interested in a physical, referrals to specialists and to complete the dmv form. Then, in the middle of taking my medical history he abruptly got up and stomped… out of the exam room yelling at me to go find another dr. His total lack of professionalism dumbfounded me. Be very wary of this physician.

I would recommend Dr. Himmelstein to anyone! His bedside manner is wonderful, he actually listens to the concerns you have and addresses them all. The staff is wonderful. They made you feel like they actually cared. Professional, yet caring. I can't rave enough about him!

Dr. Himmelstein diagnosed my husband's gall bladder problem accurately and referred him to a surgeon. We were both patients of his. When I went for a routine visit, he asked about my husband's surgery and I said he was next door getting it checked, he asked me to have my husband come to see him, which he did. Dr. H was chatting with my husband when I reminded him it was MY appt. and I had some issues to discuss. He stomped out of the room, turned around and thru a pen against the wall. We were dumbfounded! A few minutes later he returned and pointed his finger at me and said to my husband , "this lady is disrespecting you!" This man is not what I am looking for in a doctor!! He might be a good diagnostician, but miserable personality! I wanted to rate fim "overall" with no stars but this site did not allow it.

Dr. Himmelstein and his office staff are the most professional, compassionate, and caring of all the doctors my husband and I have seen in south Florida. If we could rate them on a scale of 1-10, we would rate them an 11! Never have a problem getting an appointment. No long waits. Dr. Himmelstein listens..unlike a lot of doctors, and he makes you feel that he truly cares!
