Dr I takes 50% of the income of the young naive psychiatrists who work for him! Dont be fooled by his lies that u will make $300,00! Get yourself credentialled with all the major insurance companies- do not let Dr I secretary do it- and go into private practice for yourself! Keep 100% of your income instead of giving this greedy robber 50% of your income. !plus he wants u to sign a restrictive covenant which says u cant work anywhere within 5 miles of manhattan if u stop working for him. Dont let this foreigner tell u where u can practice. Dont work for him!!!

There are many psychiatrists in NYC -- what makes Dr. Inamdar exceptional is that he cares about his patients deeply, is intelligent, insightful, and experienced all while maintaining a sense of humor. After going to many mediocre doctors for bipolar disorder, I met Dr. Inamdar 10 years ago and have seen him regularly since. He has taught me to manage my condition and to make better choices about work, relationships and treatment. He has helped me find stability in my life. His work is invaluable.

I have been seeing Dr. Inamdar for over 5 years, and in that time he has helped me with many issues. I was very distant from my family, and generally an angry and unhappy person. He is extremely knowledgeable about the current medications, and is very good as a helping me find why I do things. At first I had a hard time opening up to anyone, but I truly owe much of the stability in my life to the work we have done together.

I have been seeing Dr. Inamdar for almost two years, and my only wish is that I'd seen him sooner. I have finally been able to control my anxiety and not take things so personally since I have been using his black and white diary technique. I keep it on my mobile phone and pull it out whenever I am feeling anxious or upset about something, and this lowers my anxiety level immensely. With so much less anxiety, I have had a lot more energy during the day, too. This is helping me get over the effects of growing up with a verbally abusive father, and is the tool I have been looking for to increase my self-esteem. What I like about Dr. Inamdar is that he provides you techniques and tools that you can take with you through life; he doesn't foster a dependency on him in which you have to keep seeing him to keep seeing improvement. I especially appreciate my experience with this doctor because of the other psychiatrists I have seen. The others were mostly concerned with getting me on a… medication, then limiting the length of my visits so they could pack in more patients and more copays. One therapist I had , "DB," would schedule his patients in 5-minute intervals, yet charge the copay for a 45-minute visit. DB never reviewed his notes, so he never remembered what we had discussed, even when he was supposed to be monitoring the effects of the medication he had prescribed. I had to prod him to take my blood pressure! One day, as I was going through a very difficult life event, I came into his office in tears. He brashly rushed me out of the office with zero compassion. That was when I have up on DB! By contrast, Dr. Inamdar gives me the full 45 minutes and he listens and cares. He prescribes me medicine, but monitors it very carefully. He also combined the medicine with the cognitive-behavioral approach. Bootom line: I have improved a lot, I am more happy and relaxed than ever, and things are going better than ever at work. I've seen a lot of Psychiatrists, unfortunately, yet Dr. Inamdar is the best. I believe he's saved my life. He doesn't rush to overmedicate and it seems that he truly cares about his patients.
