Dr. Subhasis Kumar Maitra

Once the joined Village Medical, it all went downhill from there. Once my teenager said “he’s kind of rude to me”, after I had already been feeling that way. We asked them to release records a few months ago so we can change doctors at the start of the new year. The next visit to Maitra’s office was “oh, are you guys changing offices?”, it’s been all downhill from there. From them cancelling appointments with no notice, to having me wait for 45 minutes in the back, and then lying to me about my appointment time being 7:20 instead of 7, even though I had photo proof saying arrive prior to 7. I walked out and called the assistants out for gaslighting my wife and I about appointments, and the poor treatment since we told them we were leaving. No cursing, no loud voices and all they said “ok bye sir” with attitudes. That was 4 days ago. Today, we made an appointment to get our daughter FINALLY seen, and we got a last second time slot at another village medical to avoid Dr Maitra’s… office. Upon arrival, my wife was told our infants appointment was cancelled and when she said “cancelled for what reason?”…the staffs response “we don’t have a reason”. They didn’t even try to lie. This tells me it’s a huge network of bad service at Village Medical.

Terrible doctor! Needed diabetic medications for the last four days. Called and called no response. When we finally got someone on the phone they refused to call the meds in. I am a transplant patient and need to closely monitor my levels. They said you need to wait until next week so you can meet with him. Just don’t go. They are only worried about getting paid no concern for his patients!

After one visit, I think I like Dr. Maitra a lot...that being said, I really think his front office staff acted like they didn't know the world is round. They act lost and bumbling and cannot give a straight answer to any question I asked. Rude (in particular one lady) and snippy. I would fire the lot of them and start over with more professional people who know what they're doing, and know how to better treat patients.

He's the best Dr. on the planet. Period . End of discussion. He treats you like a friend, not a patient. His entire goal is your health. As long as I live in AZ Dr. Sube will be my Doctor. If I had a child, his wife Jennifer would be my childs Dr. too. Amazing couple. Amazing people. Second to NO ONE as doctors

What a great dr. He took a lot of time with me and I will continue to see him.

I have been a patient with Dr. S for the past four years. I have no issue with his professionalism, however his staff needs some training on follow up with patients. I had a recent biopsy and was told Dr would read report and call me, as a cancer survivor I am always anxious when I take a test to check for any malignancies. Dr. S staff assured me that my report would be a priority and would call me with report. If it was made a priority by the staff then I am sure we all have a different translation of priority. I think you are responsible for the actions of your staff and there is my problem with Dr. Maitra.

Dr. Maitra provides excellent medical care and treats you with respect and dignity. He takes the time to provide detailed information and explanations of your medical issues and answers all of your questions. He not only provides you with care but makes you feel like he cares. He's a great doctor!

I have been seeing Dr. Subhasis Maitra for over 11 years and have been very satisfied with both he and his office staff. He is attentive, prompt and always answers all of my questions. His office staff is always accessible, and return phone calls promptly.

I have been a patient of Dr. Maitra's for five years now and I can say that I am satisfied with the care I've received there. I've never had any issues making an appointment and the front office staff has always been very nice. I've also had a couple of appointments with their PA, Taylor and she's always very nice and thorough. I would definitely recommend Dr. Maitra.

We have been going to Dr. Maitra for 1 year now for my son. For most of his new born check ups and vaccines they never had all the vaccines in stock and we would have to return 2-3 weeks later to complete the series. When I was on maternity leave it was all well and good because I didn't have to miss work. However, this has continued over the course of the year and I am constantly having to make multiple trips to get all his vaccines- which means more hours of work I am missing not to mention gas/time etc. I do like Dr. Maitra very much and trust his professional opinion and though highly of his former PA Amy. But today, we went to his office to get my sons MMR vaccine (after calling and was told it was indeed in stock and they would make sure they had his dosage for us to come in today) I checked in @ 815... they told me they were getting everything ready so that when the doctor walked in and signed the papers we could get the shot. At 9 am they told me they were still waiting and… that they were getting everything ready. I then asked, you are sure you have it right? she said yes, she then came back a few moments later apologizing stating they did not have the vaccine available after all and they weren't sure they would even have it come time for his 1 year well check the following week. I waited 45 minutes for nothing! I felt very much like the well being of my son was of no importance, especially since I had previously spoken with them and they told me they would have everything. They had gotten the Dr's approval to have him come in prior to his 1 year check up (because he was of age to get the vaccine and with the current measles epidemic- we wanted him to get it as soon as possible and they agreed and said they would have a dosage available for him today) Considering this is an ongoing issue we will not be returning to their office. I find this very disheartening and hope the office can review it's policy on ordering vaccines and how they treat their patients.
