Dr. Suemoy Wallace, MD

I went in on a Friday morning with classic signs of appendicitis. No appetite, vomiting and RLQ pain. In the Abrazos ER they found my WBC to be very elevated (indicating an infection) and my CT showed appendicitis. DESPITE THIS, Dr Wallace came and saw me and said she didn’t think my CT was impressive and didn’t feel I had appendicitis. She then admitted me to the hospital for 4 days and 3 nights of antibiotics, but never once came and saw me. In her consult note she even wrote I had “some appetite.” THAT IS NOT WHAT I TOLD HER!! I had no appetite Meanwhile, as I was admitted. my pain was worsening, I wasn’t allowed to eat but didn’t want to anyway, and I generally just kept feeling worse. I finally convinced them to discharge me from Abrazos and headed right to banner Estrella where I was diagnosed with a perforated (likely perforated while I was on Dr Wallace’s “watch”) appendicitis and rushed me to surgery DO NOT GO TO ABRAZOS. Do AVOID THIS doctor at all cost.… Appendicitis is a basic and classic diagnosis in surgery. I shudder to think what else she is missing and what kind of technical skills she lacks as a surgeon if she cannot diagnose and operate on someone with appendicitis

Dr Wallace came to examine me in the ER when I presented with RLQ abdominal pain, elevated WBC, and appendicitis on cat scan. She said she did not agree with the cat scan read and found it unimpressive. I told her I was in incredible pain and hadn’t eaten or been able to hold down fluids in 2 days. She said that isn’t consistent with appendicitis. She also wrote in my consult note that I was hungry and had “some appetite” so I’m not sure she even listened to me. She then admitted me on a Strong antibiotic and I never saw her again. 4 days later I’m still having horrible RLQ pain. I’m now at a new ER to have my appendix properly evaluated. I would not trust this surgeon clinically or as a person. Her consult note on me was either not honest or she didn’t listen to me. Plus she missed a diagnosis of appendicitis...that’s basic in the surgery world
