Dr. Susan Eileen Gutierrez, MD

Dr. Susan Gutierrez and Michelle Trumpler, MPAS, PA-C have been treating me for the last several years. They are both knowledgeable and thorough in their diagnosis and presentation of treatment options.

Dr. Gutierrez is a wonderful woman and genuinely cares. She takes the time to listen and understand and will take as much time as she needs with you. I never feel rushed. Her new PA is also wonderful. Her staff, however, is a different story. Britney, who you always get stuck dealing with, has the personality of a wet sponge, is very unwelcoming, doesn't listen, is unresponsive and overall unpleasant to work with. I have actually considered changing doctors just so I dont have to deal with her anymore. But good doctors who genuinely care are hard to come by, so I guess I will have to continue to work with her. I wish Dr. G could get herself some good help because she deserves it.

I don't know what's going on with Dr. Gutierrez's practice. During my appointments it appears as she is listening but I don't get the feeling she cares. What gets written in her reports that go to work comp insurance is not what was discussed during appointment or there's many mistakes as far as what's being reported. I'm not sure if its her office staff that is making the mistakes, changing the reports or what. Maybe they have too much going on and can't professionally handle every patients needs. I was referred to Dr. Gutierrez to help with my work injury and actually her or her staff not being able to get things right has adversely affected my work comp. claim and has put my job in jeopardy. I had to change treating physician to a new Doctor last month and am now getting the right treatment and very happy. Also dealing with an office staff that knows what their doing and cares has made this whole work comp experience much better. I'm sorry Dr. Gutierrez if my bad experience… was strictly issues with your staff but they are bad for business if that was the case.

She literally saved my life. I had such trouble with workers comp and was in a very bad way. She gave me hope when I had none. Excellent doctor, caring, compassionate and came up with ways to help me that none one had mentioned. Thanks Dr G.

I have heard many things about pain management doctors from close family members and friends I respect. Usually it wasn't good so I was very reluctant to see one myself but with my injury I was left with no other choice. Susan really does care and is willing to take the time needed with each patient. She really made me feel welcomed and cared for. Her staff are really an extension of her too and all of them are really nice, understanding, supportive and welcoming. It's a very scary and emotional time when dealing with a potential chronic pain that may never go away. I'm happy to say, I am on my way to recovery and I have only seen her two times now! Don't get me wrong it's not an easy or a quick fix at all but Dr. Gutierrez makes you feel hopeful and positive about your recovery with being real at the same time. Thanks Dr. Gutierrez and Staff!!!!

Wonderful Doctor - very responsive and compassionate. Provided a diagnosis with exceptional follow-up. Office staff is very professional.

It should be illegal for ANY pain management doctor to not tell you about the risks involved with ANY spinal injection/epidural...and you have the RIGHT to say NO & be respected for what YOU want. I am very suprised, given the newest latest information about ARACHNOIDITIS (please look it up if you have EVER received even one epiural/spine injection) and the huge danger/risk linked to any type of injections in the spinal canal. Also, there is NOTHING wrong for a person with legitimate pain to choose opiates and other medications as their option for pain relief! NO doctor should EVER make you feel bad or attempt to scare you by sharing stories of addiction. 93% of pain patients who take narcotic medications do NOT become addicted. Do the research & be your own advocate.

Pain is very difficult to live with everyday. But, Dr.Gutierrez helps make the challenges more bearable. I completely trust her experience and knowledge. She is skilled at injections and provides reasonable and compassionate pain management.

As a guy the doc is super good looking and she seems to care, which is not a common thing in a doctor, however, when things need to be done, they either get done or they don't. They question you like your trying to get something out of em but they forgot to do...whatever!Otherwise, doc is cool and would recommend her for the most part.

Dr. Gutierrez is a very caring doctor, but sometimes doesn't have a lot of time to handle everything that is needed. She depends on her staff to help her get things done, but time and time again they drop the ball and things just don't get done or taken care of, causing extensive delays and issues. Even after numerous follow-ups to inquire of status or if ever completed, the staff then has attitude and are unprofessional as they treat you unkindly by continuing to not do their job or what is asked, questions you, forget specifics of what was requested, doesn't keep promises of getting back to you, and wastes time by having come in office when doctor had to leave, doesn't call to try and reschedule. If they make you wait for 1-2 hours its okay, but if you are 10-15 minutes late, they act like you are a bad person. The problem seem to lie with 2 staff members specifically that continue to drop the ball in her office. It is almost to the point that even though I love Dr. Gutierrez, I… am fed up dealing with these girls in her office. If Dr. Gutierrez hired some competant, professional staff, she would have an excellent rating. She really does all she can to assist her patients. She sometimes doesn't have appointments if you need to reschedule and you are left needing your medication, but you just have to be able to plan ahead. To sum it up, Dr. Gutierrez is great, but her staff that are to process requests for patients leave something to be desired...ability to follow through and get the job done.
