Dr. Swapna Adora Eisinger, MD

Our family's experience: At the initial consultation, the doctor entered the room and immediately began telling us what her plan of care was going to be. There was no exam prior to her launching into a lengthy speech about what was going to happen. Her demeanor was cold and rude. Upon finishing her speech, she acted like the appointment was coming to a close, she stood, and then said, "Well, let me look at you." At that point she paused, and then proceeded to completely re-vamp her plan of care. She stated surgery would need to occur, and her office would schedule it. This completely undid what she had spent the last 6 or 7 minutes telling us. That interaction should have been our first cue to run. Surgery was scheduled and then completed. We were instructed in home care and pain management that did not correspond to the latest medical literature in this field, and this poor advice left our family member in a horrible amount of pain. A few days after the initial surgery, we… discovered she had botched the surgery, which resulted in an emergency surgery for her to fix her mistake. Upon meeting with our family in the consultation room following the emergency surgery, she was wearing her jacket and a backpack, and appeared to be ready to leave as soon as she was done speaking to us. She updated us on the completion of the surgery and we advised her that her recommendations following the last surgery did not correspond to current medical literature, and we asked for a better management plan for home care. She became defensive and stated our family had likely caused the emergency surgery to happen - which, based on what was wrong, is not physically possible. She declined to help us navigate our concerns, and left the consultation room. In our opinion, this doctor is unprofessional, rude, not patient-focused, and very behind on the current medical literature in her field. I hope this helps inform your opinion about whether or not to trust her with yourself of your loved one.

She was able to fix my hearing problem and gave me several great options for treatment. She is a kind and skilled surgeon.

I saw Dr. Eisinger because I needed to have my thyroid removed due to abnormal cells. She was very thorough and gave my husband and me all the information we needed. My surgery was scheduled for a month later. My care at the hospital was very good. A few days later I learned that I did have thyroid cancer, but it was all contained and removed. I am expecting full recovery.

I brought my 6yr old son in to be evaluated for ear tubes. Dr. Eisinger seemed nice but did not take any time to explain anything in detail. She spent what seemed to be less than 2 minutes in the room with us and when I had questions about tonsils/adenoids I felt like my concerns were dismissed so that she could move on to the next room. I don't feel comfortable going ahead with surgery with her. I am looking for another physician.
