Having a perianal abscess is the worst health issue I’ve ever had. Getting undressed and treating an area so personal can feel very intimidating and embarrassing. Dr Ramakrishnan, her assistant Michelle, and the rest of the team have treated me incredibly well. Thank you for putting me at ease and focusing on the solution. You all helped me make the most of an otherwise unpleasant situation.

I have seen 4 surgeons for my issue and she was by far the best surgeon who actually cared about the patient more than cutting on them. She was very thorough with explanation of plan and what would be next. She also showed compassion and a great bedside manner. I would highly recommend her!!!

I've seen Dr. Rama several times for different reasons and she's always made me feel comfortable (as comfortable as possible given the circumstances), and has been thorough and honest with her examinations and input.

She literally saved my life when my colon perforated and I developed sepsis. She takes her time, answers questions and follows up. Dr. Rama gives you an honest view of how things are likely to go and why she feels a particular option is best for long term recovery. I was 15 months out from a reversal surgery and started with severe abdominal pain. I called her office in the morning and even though she was booked they got me into see her PA then she came in and checked me out and sent me to the ER for tests. Turns out I had a hernia, and she recommended and found a general to do surgery the next day. At that point I became the surgeons case but I saw her three times that day. Her skills and dedication to her patients..and the group of surgeons she practices with are the reason we trust Piedmont Hospital so much.
