Can’t say enough good things about Dr Tae Chong. Had a Diep flap in March and he has gone the extra mile for me multiple times. Excellent surgeon, compassionate and easy to talk to!

If you are considering a breast reduction, I highly recommend Dr. Tae Chong and his entire team at the Highlands Ranch Medical Center. Dr. Chong is a professional, knowledgeable, and talented plastic surgeon. I appreciated how comfortable he and his whole team (PA, nurses, etc.) made me feel throughout the entire process -- from my initial consult appointments (2), to my actual surgery and my post-op appointments (1 virtual, 1 in-person). Dr. Chong and his team answered all of my many questions with patience, respect, thoroughness and competence. They all took great care of me and made sure I was well-prepared for the surgery and for my healing process after the surgery. Dr. Chong really listened to me to understand my health goals for my reduction and I am thrilled with the results! I really liked his whole approach/process, especially that he doesn't use the "drainage tubes." I have already recommended him to a close friend who is considering a reduction and I would also… recommend him for reconstruction or any other plastic surgery needs. He is a brilliant surgeon with excellent people skills to truly listen to and connect with his patients.

So kind an understanding and spectacular job. He really cares.

He is a bad man. Mediocre surgeon, but an even worse human being.

Dr. Chong is a perfectionist when it comes to technique but of equal importance is his great eye for the proportions and aesthetic vision of the breasts. I had a tumor removed on one breast by a breast cancer doctor (Dr Ahrendt who I also loved) and Dr Chong fixed my severe asymmetry on the other breast with an implant during the same surgery. He immediately made me feel comfortable in our first meeting by injecting humor into the conversation and I felt like he really cared about not only my well being but also making me happy with his work. I’m only 19 (so needless to say I was really scared) so he helped guide me through the decisions about size, shape and positioning, keeping in mind how breasts change over time. It’s been two months since the surgery and I have inspected the incision and am happy to report it is a perfect small thin line. I think his work overall is perfection. The whole process from start to my latest follow up appt today has been seamless. The… entire staff was very efficient helping me navigate the process of two surgeries, his PA’s are amazing, Dr Chong and his staff were always happy to answer questions during appointments and on the phone. If I ever need any more work done, he’s my doctor.

Worst human being alive

I am a breast cancer survivor. I was originally treated at another facility. I was scheduled to have a masectomy with immediate reconstruction. I had consulted with 3 different plastic surgeons so I became familiar with the options for me. Before my scheduled surgery, a pet scan reveal that the cancer had metastasized to bone (my femurs). This means I am stage 4. They put me on a chemo pill for treatment. They said they do not do masectomy for stage 4 for "quality of life" - "why put you through all that when it has already metastasized." I took this to mean I would be dying soon since I didn't have time for a masectomy. I also read the stats stage 4 patients survival rate is 20% for 5 years. So I went to UTSW for a second opinion for my treatment plan. My very smart oncologist Dr. Klemow had my ovaries taken out and put me on faslodex shots and zometa infusions. When my femur tumors went in to remission, I had my masectomy by Dr. Roa (who had done a study on stage 4 masectomy).… When I met with Dr. Chong he did not just treat this as a reconstruction job, he acknowledge right away that this was cancer and not just reconstruction job. He completely got and understood about the cancer emotioanl side of it. He did discuss fully each of the options for the reconstruction and listened to my concerns of each type so that we landed on the one best for me. Dr. Chong gave me the"quality of life" part. I was thrilled to just put on clothes, my workout clothes, tennis clothes, bathing suits and look good - that feeling is "quality of life". Dr. Chong and his assistant Karen made me feel completely comfortable and at ease as I was going in every week to expand my expanders. Dr. Chong is a perfectionist with a very personable personality which is exactly the doctor I want. I still need to go back to exchange my expanders for implants and I have no doubt in my mind he will do a wonderful job! I highly highly recommend Dr. Chong and his assistant Karen!
