Tam Huynh, MD

Dr. Tam Huynh reflects the highest ideals in the medical profession. Highly skilled and dedicated, compassionate and ethical, Dr. Huynh is a model for what a surgeon should be. I am a 72 year old grandfather who went to Methodist Hospital West Houston on August 11, 2025 for surgery on my approximately 94% blocked right carotid artery. I was a high stroke risk. During the early morning preop process, IV's and a nerve bloc were administered. Thirty minutes after my scheduled surgery was to begin, a staff member notified me that my surgeon, Dr. Miguel Gomez, had not arrived and did not answer his phone. As more time passed and Dr. Gomez remained absent, Dr. Huynh agreed to take on the duties that Dr. Gomez abandoned. Although I was not her patient and Dr. Huynh had no previous knowledge of my medical records, she obtained access to my medical records. She performed surgery on my carotid artery and removed the blockage. August 19, 2025
