Dr. Tamar Karen Gottfried

Horrible staff. We began receiving additional bills 3 years after service. Office staff blamed it on an internal computer glitch, saying they are just now catching up. At this point, it was too late to have insurance resolve the issue. Office staff said it was my problem not theirs. She then threatened to send it collections. I asked to speak with the billing manager. She said the billing manager works from home and has no means of returning calls. I asked to speak with Dr. Gottfried. Staff advised that the Dr does not talk to patients about billing issues. Unprofessional, confrontational, staff was more interested in arguing than resolving the issue.

I'd recommend her to a friend. Very professional and gentle.

My first pregnancy and I was referred to her office by my insurance because I asked for a FEMALE MD. I've came to her half way thru my pregnancy because she was closer to my house. The check ups were so awkward, she hardly talk and every concern I had she said not to worry(no help). I was dilated 2cm at 35 weeks and she didn't tell me ANYTHING about what to look out for when I go into labor. I always felt rushed for my check ups. I was only in the room for 10 mins everytime.Then my water broke and I called her office and they told me to go in to OB triage. Than the thing is that made me angry is she sent a MALE doctor to deliver my baby. I do not recommend her to anyone and I won't go again to this office.

Doctor had zero sympathy when i had a miscarige For her to work with pregnant women and have the bedside manner she does she should have chosen a different field of work

I feel bad for Dr. Gottfried that I have to write this, I have since changed OBGYN offices. I had been a pt of hers for 5yrs. and she delivered my son. I love her as a provider and she is a great person. The reson why I changed offices is because of the staff, Starla. She has to be one of the most unprofessional, disrespectful F/O M.A.s I have ever come across. I came in for an appointment in Jan. and just started working for Banner. So when I came in for my visit I didn't have my card but my print out of it with Id # etc. I was told that didn't work and had to reschdule my appointment.When I came back in, I gave her the new card and she scanned it, attached it to my chart. Didn't have me feel out any demo papers, filled out new demo forms when I was there in Jan. with the CORRECT ins. info. (Starla went off old demo forms when billed) First my tests were sent to the incorrect lab and they billed my old insurance. So in turn I had two huge bills. I called and faxed over a enlarged copy… of my cards to them and had to call LabCorp to do the same. A month went by and I get another bill. Called again only to be told I didn't give the correct ins. info(in which I did). So I re-faxed it and same with LabCorp. Got another bill from a collection agency at this point because it wasn't taken care the right way. Called the office back and was told I needed to tell the M.A. in the back where to send my labs. I have been in this field for seven years and never have been told that nor told a pt that. So I asked to speak with the office manager, I was told she was out and left a message. Starla was exteremly rude every time I spoke with her even told me I was wrong with how I went about informing them regarding the billing issue. I called back twice after that and never got a return call from the office manager. If was the office manager, she would not be working there. She needs to change her career.

She is one of the most compassionate doctors I know. Even when she has been up the entire night delivering babies.. she comes in and happy to see her patients. I've been going to her for 8 1/2 years now. Her staff is awesome. Her new office is beautiful!

Dr. Gottfried has a quite, gentle demeanor that allowed me to easily tell her about the issues and concerns that I had. She has seen me through two births (one C-Section and one VBAC) as well as an etopic surgery. I have always seen her and not another doctor, which I find very rare. It was relaxing to know that she would be there to deliver my children and not some other doctor that I may or may not have met before. She also helped me with the decision to opt for the VBAC rather assume that I would have another C-Section. I was so happy with the results and that she was willing to go with me on that decision. I would fully recomend her to anyone.
