Dr. Tana Peterson Roberts, MD

I have considered posting this review for a while, but I hope it can be helpful to other families when choosing a pediatrician. I hesitate reviewing physicians because I admire the time and sacrifice it takes to become a doctor. There are many things to love about Dr. Roberts. She is warm and personable and makes you feel like your kid is the best kid on the planet(always a great feeling for a parent!). Her nurses are friendly, kind and great with kids as well. However, there are a few things that cause me to be reluctant to recommend the practice as a whole. First, she is so busy! I know that is a sign of a great physician, but getting an appointment is extremely difficult and our wait times are typically 30-45 minutes which can feel like an eternity with children. If you need to see a doctor on Tuesday or Thursday you will see her partner, Dr. Moore. While he is qualified and gets the job done, he lacks the reassurance and kindness you receive when you see Dr. Roberts. I… find myself hoping my kids don’t get sick on Tues/Thurs or waiting an extra day until she is back in the office. Lastly, communicating with the front desk receptionist is a bit tricky. She seems frazzled, but at the same time, I’ve walked in and she’s reading a People magazine. All in all, I think very highly of Dr. Roberts and don’t write this review to be angsty, but these are some considerations to take into account when choosing her as your pediatrician.

We had huge issues with her staff. I called to make a sick visit for a rash and was told by her nurse that "they do not treat rashes and I must rule out what is in my child's diet." When I saw Dr. Roberts, she prescribed my child cream and told me, "Of course, I treat rashes." This is where I have a problem. She didn't seem concerned that her staff is misinforming her patients. After 2 years of being told my child's ears looked clear, I went to an ENT where they told me he had old fluid in his ear followed by a string of ear infections per our new pediatrician. I'm not accusing her of overlooking infections, but it's just interesting that other doctors following our time with Dr. Roberts have picked up on numerous ear infections. Even the ENT who is scheduled to give my son tubes, says it's unusual he didn't have any infections the first 2 years. When it came time to transfer my child's records, they dragged their feet. I made it clear to the front desk that I would… pick them up because they were time sensitive, yet they still mailed them. I believe she and the other doctors in the practice need to put that staff in check. A cohesive staff is everything! She is lovely as a person, but over time, we had some issues.

I love love love Dr Roberts. I went through numerous pediatricians with my older daughter until I found her. I have since had another baby and we continue to see her. I have referred doctor Roberts to numerous friends. She's just the best!

We are new to this practice and so happy to have found Dr. Roberts. She is very caring, knowledgeable, and will spend as much time as needed with her patients. My teenage daughter has bonded really nicely with her.

Great, very knowledgeable and super personable...
