Dr. Tapan Rami

I am writing this for my husband. My husband went to Methodist Willow brook back in Sept 2024 because he had a torn tendon in his right hand. Because of his age, they recommend we see a Cardiologist first for approval for the surgery. We went to a Cardiologist at the new Methodist on 290 and Barker Cypress because it was close to our home. The new Cardiologist but him through a ton of tests and then finally recommended him to see a "PVC" specialist because his EKG showed a few blips. The PVC Specialist, Dr. Tapan Rami, order an MRI which he said could be done in either The Woodlands, or Medical Center. We found out only the Methodist DeBakey Center at the Med center could do the test, and no other Methodist location could do it. That said!!!! The drive to the Medical Center took us an One and a half hours. Traffic was horrible. Personally, I would not recommend this doctor. First, it took us 5 weeks to even get in to see him. Our first appointment we waited 1 hour 45 minutes before… he came in to talk to us in a patient room. He consulted us for 10 minutes and then said he needed another Heart MRI tests that involved driving all the way to the Med Center, because NO other Methodist Hospital could do the test. We waited another five weeks to an appointment to get the test. We had the test done and finally someone in Rami's office called three weeks later to schedule a follow-up appointment. We waited another 4 weeks for the follow-up appointment. We showed up this morning waited 30-40 minutes until a nurse showed us to a room where she took his vitals and asked us why we were there. We sat waiting for another 90 minutes in the patient room until we finally got up and walked out. Enough was enough. We never saw this doctor. I realize that doctors are busy, but how long do you have to wait???? The staff kept saying oh you are next, even though we saw the doctor talking on his phone in the hallway, and we heard the doctor going into other rooms and speaking with other patients. He is either OVERBOOKED, seeing patients on a priority basis, or really doesn't know what he's doing or care about patients, or has the worst office staff and scheduling people. I can only speculate with what I observed. He can be the smartest doctor in the world, but if he treats his patients like this over time, he may not get a really bad reputation. Doctor Rami's office staff are rude and obnoxious. Over charge for appointments and never return calls.

Most professional and personable, something you don't find in many doctors these days. Did exactly what he said he would do and I would not hesitate to highly recommend him.

I was nervous with a bunch of questions. Dr. Rami took his time with me and answered my questions, then made his suggestions. When I stated I wanted to go over the suggestions with my cardiologist, he was very supportive.

I saw Dr. Rami for a second opinion and advise on an upcoming third ablation for atrial fib/flutter. This physician was super. Bedside manner combines patience with knowledge. He offered me 2 alternatives which my prior EP did not. I highly recommend.

Would not recommend him to ANYONE. If you are female & have questions you will intimidate him. Had to wait an hour and 10 minutes for him and then he acted like I was inconveniencing him with my questions. He suggested I talk with my cardiologist. I guess he missed school the day they covered what I was asking.
