Taylar Schweinsberg is a Licensed Practicing Counselor with 6 years of experience working with individuals in need of additional support and treatment for mental health symptoms, processing trauma, and developing skills to meet personal goals and internal growth. Taylar has experience working with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings such as residential treatment, adult psychiatric hospital units, emergency services, intensive in-home, and providing outpatient therapy. Taylar implements evidence-based counseling interventions to guide the client toward achieving their goals, stabilization, and overall wellness. Taylar specializes in working with individuals who are going through life changes or stressors and experiencing mental health symptoms including but not limited to anxiety, depression, substance use, maladaptive coping, and relational issues. Taylar implements an eclectic approach to therapy dependent on each client and their presenting concerns and needs, these methods including cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based therapy, reality therapy, family systems, Christian counseling, and motivational interviewing. Taylar completed her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Lynchburg. She has experience in acute mental health settings with individuals who suffer from serious mental illnesses, along with providing traditional outpatient therapy to those going through life changes and challenges. From this experience, Taylar is confident in her knowledge of the field and understanding of the human experience and its unique impact on the psyche.
