Dr. Tejal Mayur Patel, MD

My son was admitted for Meningitis in Union City Baptist hospital. Dr. Patel insisted that we pursue a Lumbar puncture and we that made the diagnosis. I am eternally grateful for Dr. Patel, once treatment was started my son felt much better and I still remember her to this day. my son is in the hospital again with the same type of meningitis.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr Patel. She helped my mom with treating her blood infection in the heart! She is nice but also very direct and you can tell she really wants the best for her patients

In my experience with Dr. Patel she has absolutely poor patient communication skills. My mother died under her care in the ICU when she was treating her for Sepsis. We found out that my mother had sepsis AFTER she passed away, and Dr. Patel did not even once communicate to us while she was treating my mother that my mother had gotten infected with sepsis. After my mother passed away, I asked Dr. Patel why she not even once told us that my mother had sepsis and Dr. Patel's response was "well, why do you think then that I was being consulted on her case." This was an absolutely unacceptable and pathetic response. As a medical student myself, we are taught to communicate each and every thing with a patient's family in laymen's terms and Dr. Patel's response alludes that she expects a patient's family to somehow know why she was consulted for. As a result, my mother's sudden death came as an extreme shock to my family, and further more shocking when we found AFTER her death that she had… sepsis. Perhaps if we had been duly informed by Dr. Patel about her sepsis before my mother passed away, we would not have been as shocked or would have known what to expect. Thus, she is an absolutely poor doctor in my opinion based on her lack of adequate patient communication skills and I do not recommend her to anyone and can never forgive her for my mother's death!
