excellent doctor I have been with for a very long time.

I have been with dr. seltzer for many years and during the time that I have been with him I felt extremely great and dr. seltzer was quick at answering phone calls as well as prescribing the right medication immediately upon either seeing me or hearing what the problem was over the phone. I have been out of state and I have to state that I have not been able to find an endocrinologist that I feel as comfortable or confident to handle my medical situation. however coming back to the state and trying to set an appointment with him has not been as easy as it used to be .

He jokes too much. I found no amusement in being diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic. Looking for a different doctor who doesn't think diabetes is funny.

The doctor is probably a nice person. However, his receptionists are really bad. I've never got soooooo upset with a receptionist like this.

Old school. Looks at, bloodwork and not clinical profile or patient complaints .

This doctor was very difficult and unpleasant. He is not available for even a brief follow up by phone.

Wife was referred to him because of an enlarged thyroid. Had a 7:00 AM appointment, which was good, but he does her history, examines her, brings us back to the consultation room and says as bluntly as this, "I think you have thyroid cancer that might have spread to the lymph nodes. But that's not necessarily bad." She had an MRI that showed some enlarged nodes, but she had a cold, went back for a CT scan that showed NOTHING. He just didn't bother looking at the later CT. Sends her immediately for blood work and an ultrasound, then calls back an hour later saying she needs a biopsy, but her blood work shows she is hypothyroid, so it's "less likely" to be cancer. The biopsy showed the nodule to be benign. He says to her, "We should do something about those nodes." She replies, "But they weren't there on the CT scan." He checks and says, "Oh, you're right." Two weeks of worrying before the biopsy that might have been avoided. Wife will be finding another endocrinologist.

After seeing 2 other endocrinologists, I finally understand my problem and am working towards resolving them. I found him friendly, compassionate and extremely bright.

I was referred to Dr. Seltzer by a friend. I had been to several endocrinologists before, and I was totally impressed. He was able to diagnose my Diabetes as Type 1, rather than Type 2 as other physicians had done. This has made all the difference to me. I am now well controlled and feeling much better. He was professional and friendly. He has responded promptly to my numerous phone calls and emails. I feel I have finally found the right doctor for me.

If you're looking for a doctor to properly diagnose and give you the best treatment and recommendations available, Dr. Seltzer is the one for you. You have to be a responsible, knowledgeable patient (as much as you can). Should you need recommendations for other doctors, he knows and recommends the best.On the other hand, if you're looking for a handholder, this person is not for you. He is punctual (so unusual these days), professional, always gets back to you. Dr. Seltzer calls you himself on the day he receives your lab tests to let you know how they are and what follow up if any is required. I've been a patient for 12 years. and recommended my daughter to him as well as many other people. Each one of those people is very satisfied.
