Dr. Thalia Mayes, MD

She started out well, but the last time my family had to deal with her, she acted like she did not care anymore.

Unnecessary roughness. She did my colonoscopy in 2017. I was in so much pain as she removed a polyp at the end, refused to make me comfortable when I said something. I had a colonoscopy before from another provider elsewhere, who I adored, Dr. Harold Sullivan (who moved out of state) with no trouble. Thalia Mayes was rude, didn't give me pain medication for the horrible pain I was in. Her assistants flirted with each other before the procedure. One of them said to me, "What's cookin' good lookin," as I was wheeled in. I should've stopped the entire thing there. I experienced pain and nausea after that for a long time. Months. Should have followed up, but I was scared. And I was with a NEW pcp because my doctor of over 20 years had just retired. Thalia Mayes is a terrible doctor. Will NEVER go here again.

I have seen Dr. Mayes many times and am more than confident in her expertise. She may not be warm and fuzzy when she speaks with you, but know she will give you the best medical care and advise you could hope for... isn't that why we have doctors? Not for friendships. Anyway , she has always been pleasant and gives straight forward information and explains situations thoroughly. I cannot give her high enough marks. She has kept me colon cancer free for years.

I had a routine colonoscopy done by her and was in the ER with an infection two days later. I went home with antibiotics and was told to see her the next day or two. We called repeatedly and she finally returned my call 4 days later. By this time I had already made an appointment with my PCP. She argued with me, saying I didn’t have an infection. I asked to come in and see her and she didn’t want to see me. I was stunned the she wouldn’t follow up on her procedure that landed me with an infection. I saw my PCP for that issue until it was resolved. I would never go back to her or the practice again.

I had my first colonoscopy with Dr. Mayes. She was pleasant and reassuring. I experienced no problems during or after the procedure.

I saw dr.mayes a couple of times and that was it. She was so rude always on her phone texting making snide remarks, never listened to me,then had the nerve to tell me I was making my whole problem up.see anyone but her terrible doctor

Dr Mayes is thorough, knowledgable and professional. She found a large cancerous polyp and removed it completely, sparing me bowel surgery, and literally saved my life.

I could not asked for better treatment.Dr. Mayes was very professional and seemed to have the time to explain everything I wanted to know. Her staff was very helpful and prompt. They scheduled me very quickly and followed up to make sure I had the informatin I needed. I can't thank them enough.

I thought Dr. Mayes was professional, caring, and made me feel comfortable during my procedure. The staff needs some help. There were only 2 members of the staff who were friendly, I believe one was Linda, and the other was the attendant who takes patients into the procedure room. Overall, I felt the staff was unfriendly and abrupt. If I have to have any other type of gastro procedure, I would prefer to have it elsewhere.
