Dr. Thomas Allen Batchelor

Based on my one visit, which took three months to schedule, Batchelor appears to be a good doctor. Atrium health has a major problem with staffing doctors... especially good doctors. Scheduling usually must be made several months in advance. If you have an urgent problem, you'll be stuck seeing PA or nurse.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bachelor for 12 years and have always felt like I could not have a better doctor. His bedside manner is outstanding. He has always been empathetic, compassionate, kind, and very knowledgeable about my care. I have many problems. 2018 was a very difficult year for me. I have been admitted to a hospital as an emergency 5 times. He even called 911 when I called him once. I was on death’s door twice. I am lucky to be alive. The last time that I was in the hospital I really started to get better. When I was discharged and called Dr. Bachelor for an appt. , they had me see his PA. She was a awful. She told me that I would be seeing her from now on. I have four specialists that I also see and I am very much on top of my health and she did not have a clue of how to treat me. She changed the dosage on 2 of my medicines and I knew that was not correct. I am not going to go on and on but I did not get to see Dr. Bachelor for mite than 3 months. I did not know what to… do. He took her side on everything. I refused to ever see her again but he had total confidence in her. I have seen NP’s in his office on a sick call when the doctor was.not available and they have always been great. I finally saw the doctor two weeks ago and told him that if he did not want me as a patient any more I would change doctors but he said no and changed me back to his schedule. On that day he was like he has always been. He think the problem was that he has too many patients and he needs to lighten his load. I still think he is the best but feels his PA’s and NP ‘s are the best and usually they are but the PA assigned to me does not belong in his office. I can’t be the only patient that had a terrible experience with her.

Very poor patient care. Last 4 yrs become almost impossible to get appt with Dr. See either PA or nurse. Now calls to office answered at a call center where the receptionist acceses your records. NOT RIGHT! Lost a surgery date because paperwork sat at their office over a week without completing it and returning to surgeon. Took 3 days of phone calls to "call center". Told they are not allowed to pass calls on to office manager. Suspect there is no longer one at the office, now a supervisor of call center is who you get. Dr Batchelor was fantastic when our family started with him. With hospital take over, SAD. Have moved on to better patient care.

Dr. Batchelor and staff are fantastic. I have been going to them for 15 years. All good.

Not sure what's going on with him lately, he's rude condescending and just down right mean. I had to defend myself and left feeling like I had just been berated. I've been a patient for well over 20yrs now and never has he been like this. it's like each time I see him he gets worse. I'm actually concerned for him. Dr. Batcher please take a vacation and come back to being the Dr. you used to be please

Front line staff could not be more discourteous.

I have been a patient of Dr Batchelor for 10+ years. I could not be more pleased with the care I've received. The environment is clean and efficient. The staff is outstanding. I am fortunate to be under his and his staff's care as my primary care physician.

Dr. Batchelor is an excellant Doctor!!! I have never had to wait more than a few minutes. To me the staff is very courteous and helpful. His diagnosis is right on the money. He could not be any nicer and spends all the time with me that I need. Thank you Dr. Batchelor

I highly recommend Dr. Batchelor! He's remarkable! I have never had a physician who actually reads my history/chart before my visits! He is consistently professional, courteous, knowledgeable and patient-centered.
