Dr. Thomas C Chen, MD

He lacks any compassion and doesn't seem to want to waste his time to explain a procedure and it's effects. He was cold and treated my dad like a number instead of a patient. Dr. Chen was on-call when my dad was rushed to ER and Dr. Chen was called upon to operate and relive the bleeding in my dad's head. We waited for two hours for Dr. Chen to come down to the ER to talk about my dad and he barely gave us 5 minutes. In those five minutes, he basically show us the MRI and said he needs surgery or he will die. If he has the surgery and survives he will be in a vegetative state. No other considerations, thoughts, or options was given. When we pressed Dr. Chen for additional information about my dad's condition and alternative, his only comment was "Do you want him to die or not!" The operation Dr. Chen ended up performing gave us three more days with my dad, but never once did he come back for a follow-up visit. We know for a fact, as we never left my dad's side in ICU after his… surgery. An assistant for Dr. Chen came by on third day to check on my dad, which by then his health was failing quickly and there was little else for them to do. If given the choice of a quality neurosurgeon with patient skills, I would not choose Dr. Chen.

Dr. Chen performed Kyphoplasty on my husband and it went seamlessly. The 1st neurosurgeon we were referred to said invasive surgery was our only option with my husband being on disability for 6 months. Dr. Chen repaired my husband's back with an outpatient procedure. We will forever be grateful to him.

He does not care about his patients, I been waiting for him to approve an MRI, it's been 2 months still nothing , will not reconnect him to anyone, a doctor that does not care for his patients isn't a true doctor

Dr. Chen is at the bleeding edge of this industry. He interacts with tier 1 doctors at other facilities and is constantly learning about his field. I found his team to also be incredibly knowledgeable. Dr. Chen was a very nice man. He did not speak down to me and explained things in terms that I understood.

Ive been a patient of Dr chens for three years. Recently they had some staff changes. The service has been horrible for me sence. Im in great deal of pian still after 3 lower back surgerys. They fail to refill my med's on time and I find myself sufering extreme pian and discomfort. Currently ive had to go to the E.R. and urgent care to recive medications. I am so disspointed with their new policys and treatment of a suffering person
