Dr. Thomas Gilbert Craven, MD

Wish I would had never gone to Dr. Craven....I had back surgery from him almost a year ago now and immediately after the surgery I had severe pain down my right leg and into my foot. To this day it still feels like a box of rocks in my shoes or a steel rod going through my foot. I can't walk around the house without padded support shoes, because of the pain. This was brought up to Dr. Craven and his staff on many occasions and visits along with emails and phone calls (which go unanswered) to them. I had to drive up his office to finally have someone respond to me. After 3 months he suggested I may have plantar fasciitis , recommended me to another Dr., which was done and dismissed from him as that was not the case. Since my surgery I have been to 3 other surgeons, 2 PT's, 2 Chiropractors, had scraping done, I have had about 400 dry needling, EMG test, and so on. After spending nearly 10k out of pocket doing my own research that insurance does not cover, I finally found another… surgeon that determined by ordering another MRI, (which he was shocked that Craven ordered another one), that there was still a major issue in my back and that Craven left part of the issue in there and why I still have continued pain in my back, hip, leg, calf and foot. If Dr. Craven would have just done his job correctly and/or listened to his patient then maybe this could have been resolved months ago, instead of him passing me down the line. His ego and prideful nature got in his way. I would never recommend Dr. Craven to anyone and be sure to check reviews more thoroughly before considering using Dr. Craven for any work.

Highly recommended. I was very happy with my visit to Dr. Craven. He was pleasant, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He offered me various treatments and help me decide which one to undergo. I didn’t feel pressured and I didn’t feel like he was only in it for the money. Any doctor who makes you feel it’s all about the money has got more problems than I could deal with here today. I think they are worth every penny because they spent years working to get where they are. They have every right to make a living commensurate with their training. They certainly shouldn’t do it for free. I had an injection today that he recommended and the pain has subsided. I know this injection is no guarantee that I will have no more pain, but he never told me it was. Whether the pain comes back or not, it’s not on his shoulders. Not every treatment works for every person. I would still recommend him very highly. His staff was awesome. I could think all day and not come up with a negative.

I agree with the many others before me. He walks out after about 5 minutes and doesn't return. Didn't examine me, didn't ask me any significant questions, dint go over my MRI with me. I agree with another review that his nurse was just as unprofessional. I have a choice and it won't be with him.

As long as everything was good he was ok. When I complained about pain in my back and leg he told me to go have my knees checked. Very arrogant and full of himself. Would not recommend him.

I had neck surgery 3 yrs ago and now I'm having another next surgery in a couple of week ….dr craven is such a down to earth dr and knows what is he doing he takes his time with you when your there and answers every question you have....im blessed to have him as my dr that is going to operate on me

From my first appointment, Dr. Craven has been nothing but amazing. I am able to walk and sit pain free. He was honest and up front throughout the entire process.

Walks out in middle of visit and don’t come back

No bedside manner and he don’t care if he can help u or not. It’s all about the money

Don’t go to him. U will be wasting ur money. He’s a big fat joke

Was referred to him because I was having horrible pain in lower back and down leg, leg and foot is numb can’t hardly walk right(hurts) can’t sleep and have to watch what I do. He maybe was in the 5 minutes if that said mri looked normal which it wasn’t. Said let me pull ur disk up and we will go over it together, he walked out of room and never came back in. His nurse which is just as rude as him said we’re gonna send u to pain management. I don’t want pain I want to know what’s wrong and for it to be fixed. He’s a horrible doctor and obviously not there to help people it’s just for the money.. will not send anybody to him.. he’s k my getting a 1 star because I have to answer it
