Dr. Thomas Gerhard Hospel, MD

Not many doctors take the time to call a patient!!Dr. Hospel does, his compassion is outstanding!

I have never left the doctor's office without a clear understanding of my health status. Dr. Hospel is direct in his opinion and extremely adapt in presenting options of how to proceed. I have not experienced anything other than attentive and reliant health service from his practice, the medical staff is very friendly while professional. I do have several health issues that Dr. Hospel monitors, he is not offended, but encouraging, when he feels a referral to specialists is appropriate!

He is the nicest, most caring and patient doctor I've ever had. He actually sit down in the room with you and let you know by showing you that you have his undivided attention and that you are his only priority at that moment. He completely listens to whatever issues you are having and takes your concerns and advice to Heart in regards to how he is going to treat you medically. Him and I have a special bond that nothing can replace or compare to and I recommend him to everybody I possibly can. The entire team of nurses and doctors in that office as a unit are all amazing.

I have been seeing Dr Hospel for over 15 years. I recently moved across town and stayed with him as a patient - he is attentive to what is wrong - has helped my entire family through a few different traumas and he always has taken the time to get to know me and my girls. Most importantly, I always walk away with a cure!

I could have gotten into an urgent care faster. Didn't even see the doctor.

I have been going to Dr. Hospel for some years now and really find him personable and caring. He will sit and listen to the problems and explain the options. After he has that done he will then ask how everything else is.

Quite simply a very good physician who will take the time to help you out.

Dr Hospel is a great sports med MD. He is clear and easy to talk with, making the diagnosis easier.

I had gone to Dr.Hospel (Thomas Hospel) for depression originally and he seemed willing to help out, I told him about the psychosis and immediately he referred me to a psychiatrist without ruling out a possible physical cause. Dr.Hospel later wanted a copy of the psychiatrist records, like an idiot I gave them to him. Dr.Hospel's demeanor then change towards me when he found out that the psychiatrist had diagnosed me with schizoaffective disorder. He acted like he didn't want to work with me from that point on. He seemed less and less willing to work with me as time went on.I went to him with the news that psychosis could be caused by something physical and he did the standard blood work that hadn't been done on me for years. I felt that doing just that wasn't enough so I asked for a referral to a neurologist because I knew that Dr.Hospel would just say that it was beyond his area of expertise as he has told me this in the past. I followed up with him after requesting the referral to… get him to check some other blood work, most specifically my vitamin d levels and he was mad at me for requesting the referral, ignored my requests and just checked my vitamin b12 levels and rechecked my TSH, he also ran out of the room when I was trying to tell him what I want done. I told Dr.Hospel that I needed a prescription for the blood work to be done somewhere other than his office because they have problems getting my blood but he wouldn't listen to me, the nurse that came in to do the blood work had to go talk to him to get the prescription. Got the blood work that Dr.Hospel ordered done and my TSH was normal low, I was trying to get him to do the 2 other blood tests to check for thyroid problems when I was in to get the blood work ordered.I went to a completely different practice and they listened to me and got the blood work ordered that I wanted done, they even wanted to check the other 2 thyroid levels because my TSH was normal low. I get the results back and I'm severely deficient in my vitamin d levels but everything else was normal. The neurologist refused to see me for the psychosis so the new place had me go for an MRI. Results for that later came back normal.I went to Dr.Hospel again for depression because I couldn't get in to see the psychiatrist to have my anti-depressants increased from me being depressed from the way Dr.Hospel treated me earlier. I admit, I royally screwed up when I told his receptionist that the only reason I went to the neurologist was because Dr.Hospel didn't know what he was doing and I'm very sorry for that, I even apologized to his receptionist for the way I acted. His receptionist said that it's ok to not worry about it. But I go in to see him to get this depression straightened out and I asked him if he was just going to ignore me like he did the last time and Dr.Hospel said that he had been wanting to talk to me about that, turns out everything was not ok and Dr.Hospel kicked me out of the practice, mind you I have been a patient there longer than what he has been a doctor there and that's been over 15 years ago. And as a result I attempted suicide 4 times, he knew I had problems when Dr.Whitehead left and he knew I had issues with depression even that I had suicidal tendencies but Dr.Hospel did not screen me to see if I was going to attempt suicide. He just seemed like he didn't care how upset I was and I think he was happy.

Has shortened hours which results in having a hard to get an appt. with him.
