Dr. Thomas Robert Klinner Jr, MD

Too bad he closed his practice with no notice. We have had a hard time finding another Dr...At our age, wish we could know that he is ok.

After being with Dr Klinner for 14 years under his care, I highly recommend him. But why did his office suddenly and mysteriously close?

I have used Dr. Klinner for a number of years, since moving to this area in 2008. I first used another doctor, who basically served as a script writer until I could find a more knowledgeable and competent physician. On the advice of a friend, I began going to Dr. Klinner, whose office is not far from my house. I have been very well pleased with his expertise as our GP. He is constantly studying and learning new things about how the body works, and I found him very helpful in diagnosing my hypothyroid and adrenal issues, which were causing me to lack energy and mental clarity a few years back. This cleared up greatly with medication and supplementation. His office staff at times lacked consistency, and recently they lost some important paperwork related to a recent office visit with my son, and we had to redo it. I am not sure if this created an issue as far as his office closing or not, but this is the day and age of draconian health regulation, and the FDA is always looking… for an excuse to shut down the practice of a doctor who favors working with the body in a natural fashion rather than throwing drugs at the problem. He was always more willing to treat symptoms with natural supplements as opposed to drugs, as the latter often cause side effects. I recently visited him with my 21 year old son who was having some anxiety issues, and found him very knowledgeable about the workings of the nervous system, B vitamins and the complexities of brain chemistry. He prescribed some a low level drug as well as some vitamins/enzymes. He sold pharmaceutical grade supplements and vitamins out of his office, and we often used those, and found them very helpful. I hope that there is not a legal reason for his office closing, but if so, I hope justice will be served here. I found him to be very congenial and very well read and competent. Many doctors do not keep up with the latest in their field, but he did in spite of the fact that he is no no longer young. I pray for a solution to this mystery, and for the good health of those of us that are being forced to find another doctor. I will have to look long and hard to find another one as good as Dr. Klinner I

We received a letter over the weekend stating that due to unforeseen circumstances, the office as permanently closed effective 05/20/16. We're trying to figure out who to go to now.

I am thoroughly confused and wondering if anyone knows why the practice closed. I have been a patient for several years and just heard the news. Doctor Klinner and his wife took care of many people in the Ooltewah area for over two decades and I am sure they will be truly missed. Did anyone receive notice, a letter or phone call? Sad news.

It probably doesn't matter what I think anymore since there is a sign on his door saying that he is closed permanently, as of last Friday. He orders expensive unnecessary tests. His wife works with him and is also horrible. She chewed me out once for not remembering what was on a piece of paper I signed over a year prior. Horribly long wait times.....I switched doctors!!!

Dr. Klinner is very smart and knowledgable but does not have a good bedside manner. He reads my chart, mumbles incoherent phrases, doesn't ask me any questions about how I am doing or feeling, then walks out of the room without asking, "do you have any more questions", not even a "have a good day" or just a "bye" He is horrible in assessing patients. He has never ever even listened to my heart or lungs. The lady who drew my blood just walks right in "which arm can I take blood from?" Not a hello my name is.. And I will be taking blood from you. Staff is very rude and needs a lesson on how to treat a patient.

I do not recommend Dr. Klinner at all. He wants to do expensive test and treat everyone with low thyroid and low folate even if it is normal. It was 3 and a half hours of waiting...and that is not the first time... I would not even give him one star but allows for nothing less..

I had to wait 4 hours to see him, he put me on unnecessary medications, and ran expensive tests I did not need. He seems to treat every patient for hypothyroidism. I do not have it.
