Dr. Thomas William Kravitz, MD

I am telling everyone that you should avoid this health practice if you value being treated like a human being. Many people who are seeking healthcare are already anxious about test results, worried about their health or a condition and are under stress. If any place should have empathetic and understanding people, it should be your healthcare provider. This practice made it known that they value money over people. This practice is now charging membership fees to be seen by the doctor (this is new from the prior 2 years as a patient), which was explained on the day of the appointment and not beforehand. The annual fee was 1,200 or 300 per visit, to be paid cash only (no credit cards.) This is on top of the insurance and co-pay. The explanation came from a callous receptionist who should not be working in healthcare, especially for a doctor who “truly cares for his patients.” When questioned about the fee, the lack of notification and the fact that they expect a large payment “cash… only”, the receptionist made it clear that she did not care if the patient stayed with the doctor or not. Most people would be understandably upset about this, but she really made it clear that she didn’t care about being empathetic. She did say she would “waive” the fee for today and would just charge just the co-pay, but she then went to the back office to inform the doctor. They proceeded to both start talking loudly and negatively about the situation and the doctor clearly stated that the patient would not be getting any “special treatment.” After the patient let them know that they could hear them, the receptionist came out and told the patient that the appointment was cancelled and that they can go. Even more frustrated, the patient said they were going to report them for their service and she said that they could tell whoever they wanted, she didn’t care and she continued to taunt the patient until they left. Her behavior was beyond unprofessional, she did nothing to deescalate the situation, she let it be known that her ego was more important than the healthcare and frustration of the patient. There are also so many people with disorders who do not respond well to hostility and disrespect from others, especially when they are trying to reach out for medical help. This practice has an outdated customer service culture that is not ideal for people seeking sensitivity or just general courtesy.

so blessed to have a primary care physician spend the time to look at the whole picture when a problem arises. Great in reviewing everything during the annual exam and moving forward with a plan.

I'm not sure if Dr. Kravitz takes new clients or not, but I feel blessed to be one his existing clients. He came from a referral and I've never had a good relationship with any of my doctors, ever. Dr. Kravitz is the best listener and I find that he is extremely organized and diligent about every aspect of my medical background. I wait a bit longer to see him in the waiting room but I know that is because he is treating another client with the same careful manner as he treats me. His expertise is seemingly endless and yet if he doesn't know the answer, he finds someone that does and that he trusts. What a gem of human Dr. Kravitz is and it is clear that being a doctor is his "calling".

I have been a patient of Dr. Kravitz for 23 years. The office staff is always pleasant. Yes, you might have to wait a little extra time but that is because he is spending enough time with his patients and their needs. I have and recommend Dr. Kravitz 100%. He is avery gifted healer.
