Dr. Thomas Hoon Lee, MD

One I=of the worst experiences I have had with a surgeon in my entire senior life. It started with a fairly minor surgery and after 2 surgeries had to find a new Dr,and it was so messed up I had 10 bones fused in my ankle and almost had to have an amputation. I will never be able to walk properly and will always need a brace. WORST DR I have ever met DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR in my opinion

Went in for a painful condition... but was very disappointed with Dr. Lee. He is not good at explaining what you have, options for treatment, care, and answering any questions. When you ask questions, he is very quick to become visibly irritated, rude, dismissive and indirectly mocks you and basically states that he has declared his opinion (He has the "I am God complex .... and you may not question anything God declares"). In addition, he misdiagnosed my condition. I wasted alot of $$$ on hime. There are limited foot / ankel doctors in the area ... but I found a very good one. Would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr. Lee has been very professional the two times I have needed to use his service. He answers your questions and makes you feel like you are in good hands,

Dr. Lee literally spent 3 minutes with me on my first visit. He did not even look at my feet or X-rays. He asked what treatment I wanted, I asked what my options were and he got very upset and rude. Told me when I know what treatment I want to come back and then the nurse excused me and told me I was done. I'm extremely confused as he gave me no options to treat my severe pain and he didn't even examine me. I will definately find another doctor. I would not recommend this man to anyone who can't self diagnose and put together their own treatment plan with no options in front of them. Worst experience ever with a doctor!

Dr. Lee stated in my appointment that I had come to see him only for determining if I needed surgery. I hope all doctors see surgery as one of a multitude of options available (hopefully the last option chosen). I was surprised that he took such an attitude. He listened to my history but did not examine my feet. Two other doctors I had been to as well as a physical therapist diagnosed arthritis in my big toe joint. Dr. Lee stated there was none. He did not elaborate on why this was his opinion. He gave me no diagnosis which is acceptable to me as I guess he just did not know. When I asked him for suggestions as to where I could seek help he had no suggestions. I find this disconcerting and unfortunate as I am now seeking a neurologist on my own accord. I am trying to figure out why I continue to have excruciating pains. I expected more from a doctor of his stature and was highly disappointed in his responses to my problems. There are probably certain conditions that Dr. Lee is… extremely good on fixing. However, if you have a complex problem that is not straightforward then I would seek advice of a different doctor.

His communication about the procedure he was going to preform was lacking. He didn't want to discuss the possible risks. When presented with multiple questions about the procedure he became very defensive and refused to do the surgery as planned, trying to force me to wait another 2 months. I couldn't walk around on a torn tendon for 2 additional months so I had to find a new doctor on short notice since I had already made arrangements to be off work for 9 weeks. Was shocked by the turn of events since on the first two visits he seemed helpful and sincere. Guess the lesson to learn here is that some people don't like to be questioned.

Dr. Lee was referred to me as an excellant physician. While I view him as an acceptable doctor for my ankle I was greatly disappointed in him and his staff in addressing me as a patient. I was dismissed as a patient because he (or staff) did not fully inform me of the things I needed to to to prepare for pending surgery. After testifying that I was an excellent candidate for an in-bone ankle replacement (a 4-5month process) w/ insurance the insurance company. He changed his mind in a matter of four week that I was not an excellent candidate. He determination was NOT based on his exam. But rather an anecdotal conversation about a weak leg muscle. He DID NOT tell me about needs to strengthen said leg. He then dismissed me as a patientwithout speaking to me when my husband had questions of his staff. If a doctor has the skill to meet a pyhsical need he shoud notact this way towards his patient.
