Dr. Thomas Vernon Messe, MD

I am disabled and autistic and I was having problems filling out my paperwork, no one assisted me and the worker told me I had to leave. I calmly told them my situation and they told me I have 10 more minutes to fill out the paperwork which I did and then they made me wait another 20 minutes before they finally took me back which was understandable at the time and the doctor Thomas Messe instead of asking me what was wrong with me physically asked me if I would like to be taken out of the building forcibly by police or if I would calmly leave the building.. I'm autistic and disabled I truly thought they were assisting me but they were just taking me away to threaten me in private after lying to me about more time to do paper work. They made a fool of me and embarrassed me in front of a full waiting room. Thomas messe threatened me as I was scared in a corner. This is unbelievable. Do not go here. They act like 1940s Germans to the disabled. Like I was a lesser human. I am so… embarrassed and destroyed mentally.

Dr Massee is a very kind person and seems to really care about my husband's medical needs. He is willing to help when we need him to. We highly recommend his services.

Dr. Messe is very unprofessional and I don’t recommend him if you are not a Christian. He asked me about my beliefs at the end of our visit and then was very rude and demeaning when I told him I was not a Christian. He then started basically preaching to me and if my girlfriend was not there to stick up for me then he would have continued to keep asking me really strange religious questions that had nothing to do with my doctors visit about my stomach. My girlfriend asked why he was preaching to us and he completely shut down and ended the appointment abruptly. I don’t usually leave reviews but this man is extremely rude and I think he thought he could get away with it because I am young adult. Religion should be separated from the medical field and he is completely out of line to try to push his beliefs onto others during a doctors visit.

This "doctor" spends his free time harassing, intimidating, and hating on women at a local clinic. I have him on videotape admitting that he looks up the patients and what they're going in for to a clinic he does not work at, which is a HIPAA and ethical violation. He should not be practicing medicine and his license should be revoked. He has been reported for these violations. Nobody should trust this man with their personal health care, much less any of their information.

This man belittled me, tried to push his religious views on without even knowing mine, was rude and talked to me like I was incompetent. All he should be doing as a "doctor" is providing the service i pay for. He is very unprofessional and doesn't care about exposing your personal information. Do NOT reccomend him at all. He was also rude to my fiance that was with me.

This alleged doctor is HORRIBLE! DO NOT go see him and waste your money. He took over for another Dr. He walked in room with my file up against his chest and said "what can I do for you." I told him why I was there, i.e., a required follow-up from a previous Dr. from his clinic. He asked nothing about my medical history, my medical conditions, etc. He took no vitals - never even touched me. (I must have looked like I had the plague or something!) I asked him if he had looked at some of my medical info such as MRI's, etc. He said no. I don't think he had even opened my chart. When I told him of my condition and that I was told to see him, he said "go to the ER." When I asked what am I supposed to say to the ER, he just said you are being discharged from this clinic. You will get a letter in the mail." I asked why? He said I am being discharged for a "hostile environment." (I supposed NO questions can be asked if this Dr.) Then, he told me "to never step foot in this clinic again." This… is a practice, and clinic, that I have been a patient of for at least 6 years. This person had no concern for me. Didn't even bother to read my records. I have NEVER been treated so poorly. A total waste of a Dr., and of my time. STAY AWAY!

I am REVISING my review from May 10. This Dr. called me personally to check on me and set up an appointment. He was also right about my medication. I think his reasoning put me off at my first visit. I believe I reviewed in haste and am going back for an appointment next week. I'd like to be as fair as possible reviewing this Dr. and one visit is probably not a fair assessment.

Dr. was nice but I was very put off about a few things on my first (and last) visit. He did not lay one finger on me. No check of heartbeat, lungs, reflexes, neck etc. Most every Dr I've been to checks the "basics". I was considering going back on depression meds but hesitated. He insisted that it is our responsibility (depressed people) to be on meds for the good of society.... OK. Then he took my prescription from my previous Dr. (out of state) and cut my dose in half, saying that there is a drug problem in Pensacola involving this particular med. Oh by all means!, treat me according to drug abuse trends and not according to how well they work for me. I'll go home and have debilitating panic attacks more often so you can feel better about yourself and think you somehow improved the drug problem in a city I don't even live in! This Dr. is not for me.

Dr. Messe was chosen to replace our other family doctor who had made a couple of medical mistakes. Messe first saw me and diagnosed that I was improperly medicated. I received positive results and asked if he would also accept my other family members. Each has seen him for a first visit and all are pleased with his attentiveness and treatment.
