Dr. Thomas Hunter Newsom, MD

I got my cataract surgery with Dr Hunter, but despite having the "best" lenses in the market as I was promised, the results were others, every time I try to make an appointment with this doctor I seem to see anybody else besides him. He is all about business and not caring at all.

I went there to get cataract surgery on both eyes. He did the left one first ( near vision) and then the right ( far vision). The left eye came out great, but here it is 6 months later and I am still having problems seeing out of that eye. I can't see far distance at all. I am wearing glasses to read and drive. I went back for 4 months trying to get him to correct my vision, but he didn't do anything for me. I would not recommend going to see him. I am very upset with the problems I am having. Part of my money paid for the new building he had built on highway 27. I am now looking for a new doctor and hope someday I can get my vision corrected. All he does is take your money and doesn't correct the problem. Beware!

I have really bad eyesight and was very frightened about my eye exam- the team of doctors and staff made me feel comfortable and reassured me about my eyes. 5 stars!

Very proficient and friendly staff. The doctor took time to explain things. Never felt rushed or like a number.

Dr. Newsom charges for absolutely everything he can. Don't think that you will use this doctor without experiencing thousands of dollars in expenses, even with terrific eye insurance as I have. While there, I got to experience one of the desk staff ask another if they wanted to argue with a caller for a while while they checked me out. Even though I had already met my medicaid deductible, they charged me the Medicaid deductible and tons of other charges as well. Once the laser procedure was over, I never saw him again. The office would only schedule me with other doctors in the practice. Watch your wallet because he will have his hands in it at every chance.

Dr. Newsom came recommended by my optometrist. My near vision has been getting fuzzy and I wanted to know more about my options for correcting it. Newsom's bedside manner and confidence is key. He's very personable and explained what is happening to my eyesight in simple terms using analogies. The wait time was average. Most importantly I left Newsom Eye confident in knowing what's going on with my eyes and what my options are in the short and long term. I highly recommend Dr. Newsom.

I highly recommend Dr. Newsom. He helped me get a state of the art procedure when I had a basil cell on my lower eye lid. I am glad I asked for a second opinion. My first doctor said that I should get the basil cell frozen or cut off. Dr. Newsom stated that a Mohs procedure would be more successful in the long-term. When I researched both options, I learned that with Mohs you can be 99% sure that the cancer is removed completely. The other procedures are not nearly as exact and the cancer might return. I am glad I consulted with Dr. Newsom.

Great experience and very caring doctor. I have been so disappointed in the past so this was just a great experience. Great staff and nurses as well. Best of all he did my surgery and the results are fantastic! I have NEWsom Eyes!

Dr. Newsom did my lasik and the results were great. I don't know why I waited so long to get this done. Cudos to the staff for their courtesy.
