Dr. Thomas Alexander Suberman, MD

Some maturing/humbling needed. Motivated to be correct and/or “the smart one in the room” to the point of distorting reality (a bit) to accomplish this. I know this seems like a small complaint, but, in addition to empathy, objectivity matters. Most psychiatrists these days have little to know actual training in psychotherapy, so unless yours does, expect him or her to have a little bit of insecurity about this being exposed. His bio says he has a psychodynamic orientation, which in some ways is an unethical claim for any one without that formal training. Does he have it?

Finding the right mental health professional is obviously extremely personal and subjective. I suffer with depression and anxiety and I have had a very good experience with him. He is compassionate, understanding, thoughtful, incisive, and insightful.
