Dr. Thomas Kesheng Tsao, MD

I was with Dr Tsao for about a year. Over the course of the year he continued to pressure me into talking about my sexual interactions online, instead of helping me work through them he put me in an uncomfortable position... saying things like 'well did you use sex toys? you aren't a porn star, are you? what kinds of pictures were they? what did you show? how much did you show?' as I was insecure and confused about what was going on within myself, having him push further into these actions made things a lot worse. In addition to the sexual harassment, he would change my medications every three weeks or so. I was taken off a medication set that was working really well for me, he pulled me off cold turkey. Then continued to put me on a new set of medications and then take me off of them, causing withdrawals and side effects constantly over the course of about 6 months. When I asked him for notes for school or for a letter for a homebound program he told me he would write them, however… not long after we received a letter from the school saying nothing was sent. If you want to protect your son or daughter, stay away from him. He talks this talk almost like a teacher when the principal sits in, he's suddenly this 'perfect' man whos doing this, this, and this, when really he isn't. When I discussed physical abuse going on at home, he says he isn't going to say anything to anyone (which they're legally required to, especially when I asked him to.) Because he didn't put his hands on me, he was allowed to continue doing as he does. But please listen when I say, he's in it for the money. he constantly reminded me of the licenses he has, the number of patients he's treated, and how perfect his life is. It got me nowhere, and when I told him a medication wouldn't work for me, he put me on it anyway leading to adverse reactions landing me in the hospital for a week.

Dr. Tsao is wonderful w/ adolescents. He knows how to speak to them& more important how to listen to them. Don’t know what we would have done without him.

If you are a concerned, involved parent who wants genuine, objective help for your teen, I would stay as far away from this man as possible. He is an enabler, particularly in regard to teen girls. Very much Freudian in his approach - believes behaviour issues are absolutely related to some parent issue. Encouraged my daughter to believe lies told to her by non-custodial parent. Put me on the defensive many times; uh . . . as parent while my daughter may deserve an explanation re: parental rules, in no way shape or form should I have been put in the position of defending myself to her - at Dr. Tsao's insistence. Dr. Tsao readily admits he knows very little of internet, cell phone behaviours of today's teens, social media, etc. If you don't understand the impact all of those are having on our youth today, you have absolutely no business hanging out a shingle saying you are a professional at helping these kids. I could go on and on, but I will stop where I started. Stay as far… away from this man as you can. I will be filing a complaint with the Virginia Board of Medicine.

DR. TSAU HAS TREATED/SUPPORTED OUR FAMILY OVER PAST 30 YEARS THROUGH SEVERAL SIGNIFICANT CRISES/LOSSES. exceptional RAPPORT AND EFFICACY WITH YOUNG PEOPLE; VERY SUPPORTIVE/AVAILABLE TO PARENTS. HIS HELP DURING UNEXPECTED DEATHS AND ADHD ISSUES INVALUABLE.

I loved him from ages 16 to 26. But, he never was up to date with technology and spent alot of time telling me about himself and his perfect life. He made me feel loved and it felt personal but I never actually made much progress. Further, he was not up to date with technology and tears about what someone said online was never even registered by him. He had his best days and needs to retire.

Dr. Thomas Tsao, is really a one of a kind doctor. He really cares for his patient and the family. He helped my teenage daughter a lot.
