Dr. Thomas F Wylie, PhD

In 2005, he was assigned to treat my sister. He wrote a report on her mental condition citing all the tests she had to pay for cash. My sister tried very hard to comply with everything she did in the law. He told her not to talk to her family as a part of her therapy. When I looked at her phone call log, evidently she had tried many times to contact him. He isolated her. This is what abusers do to victims. I can’t believe this is what psychiatry teaches students. My sister was very beautiful, kind and talented. He provided a write up under personality functioning where he described her as seductive, selfish, tending to exaggerate, having an enchanting manner, and being self-centered. Within one week of this scathing professional write up she took her own life. My sister was disturbed by the report. She did call me eventually. His judgement of her was taken fully to heart. Yes, as others have discovered he wasn’t available after dropping the scathing words from a professional to… patient. He forbade her to talk to her family who love her the most. Had we been able to talk to her, we would have called out his obvious attraction to her and dispelled the negativity in his write up. If you love your family member don’t go to this guy. There’s no more we can do. It’s been 20 years since this fateful occurrence. I’ve read his report many times. Like a negative report card my straight A student sister was reading it over and over and judged herself unworthy to live.

We had an awful time getting in touch with this guy. Had to wait in front of his office to talk to him. He would not return phone calls. Condesending when we talked to him in person. Had no trouble taking the money. His problem was providing the services.

Productive testing done over two different days. We created a useful baseline for my particular situation. I selected three stars on "Effective Treatment" because I was not treated but only tested with him. A very fine doctor, in my opinion.

I've made 20 calls in two weeks and none were answered. I had to sprint outside to pickup a call back. I was immediately told to call this other person to verify insurance and then went right back to playing the exact same absurd phone tag game. The line doesn't even ring anymore it goes straight to messaging. I am at work, I can't be receiving call backs. i have to initiate the call.

Dr. Wiley was thorough, helpful, and efficient. We finally received some of the answers we've needed for a long time. Thanks, Doctor!

This person is impossible to contact. Have left numerous messages with an *answering service, over a month. Still waiting for a report. Payment will be delayed. There are so many other PhD in SLO. Find someone else.
