Dr. Timothy R Miller, PhD

He showed up late and was very disorganized and distracted. It was as if I had showed up at a friend's home unannounced, except it was in the afternoon on a work day and I showed up at a place of business. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but this was not a good first impression. Seemed ok otherwise, but it is definitely a "job" for him, and one he doesn't love. He is very experienced. I sense he has seen it all, but I also got the sense he would rather be retired or somewhere else.

Dr. Miller has a dry personality, and that was difficult for me to get past when I was in my early 20s. However, I stuck with him, and with his help, I was able to turn my life around. I genuinely do feel that he is concerned for his patients, but he is also a straight-shooter, which can be off-putting to some if they aren't willing to hear the truth. I have argued with him, disagreed with him, and been really mad! LOL, regardless of how I let my feelings get on top of me....he has led me to seek and find a better life, not by telling me how to do it, but rather by gently leading me to discover my own answers. My life is about 90% better than it was when I started therapy.
