Dr. Tommaso Addona, MD

I am writing this on behalf of my mother, who has now seen Dr. Adonna 3 times for surgery. Not because she loved the experience so much she wanted to keep going back, but because Dr. Adonna did his job so POORLY that she has to keep seeing this failure of a doctor. She went to him for her double Mastectomy, and her scheduled reconstruction. That should have been the end of it, but during the reconstruction, AFTER SHE SPECIFIED HOW SMALL SHE WANTED HER IMPLANTS TO BE, he placed large expanders in her breast with small implants. This caused concaving her chest and a fold in her armpit. As if the mastectomy surgery and reconstruction surgery weren't scary enough, she now had to go back and see him AGAIN to fix his mistakes. So she went back, and after that surgery went "well" according to Adonna, her implants have now FELL and they FLIP and she had to get them flipped back. This means she will need a 3rd reconstructive surgery. I would like anyone to know that if you are going to Dr.… Adonna as a cancer patient, he gets paid per surgery... keep. that. in. mind. They only he has made besides mistakes with my mother is money. DO NOT GO TO THIS MAN.

I have been a patient of Dr. Addona for approximately 2.5 years and he has been my personal angel. I had a double mastectomy and reconstruction with a diep flap and my results are amazing!!! I’ve had the worst time emotionally dealing with my diagnosis but Dr. Addona has always been a phone call or text away. His PA’s Jess and Katy have been equally amazing. This team has really helped me get through the worst time of my life. I now consider them my family!

Dr. Adonna is an excellent doctor! He is compassionate, friendly and professional. He always made me feel comfortable, taking away all my fears . His staff is respectful and caring. I am so happy and thankful that I chose Dr. Addona for my reconstruction after my bilateral mastectomy. I would definitely recommend Dr. Addona to my family and friends. My neurosurgeon told me Dr. Addona was needed to close the surgical procedure as this was the second back surgery. I never saw the doctor before or after the surgery. I was scheduled to return to my room AFTER the drain was removed in the recovery room. We waited 3 hours for the resident to come. She appeared very annoyed and was not professional. The next day I was discharged, but again had to wait 3 hours for the resident( different person) to came and remove the last drain. My post op appointment was re-scheduled because I was told Dr. Addona wanted to see the wound before the stiches were removed. He was a no show. The nurse practitioner removed the stitches. very roughly. Two days later, I told my husband it felt like there was still somethin in my back. He saw 2 piece of black string! He had to take them out with a tweezer. Then, his office keeps sending me documents to sign so he can get more money form the insurance company. I would never recommend him.

I was referred to Dr. Addona to close a spine surgery. At my first appt. with him he told me he would be away and could not do my surgery. He gave the surgery to the newest doctor in his practice that I never met. He told me someone from the practice would see me in the hospital and he would be my doctor for post op. I saw Dr. Addona 11 days after my surgery due to a large seroma(Fluid collection) at the surgical site. No one from his practice ever saw me in the hospital, I never met the doctor who closed my wound. When he came into the examining room he said turn around and lift up the back of your shirt. All of a suddenly with no conversation I felt something wet on my back and then a sharp syringe in my back. I was not in a sterile environment. He never put on gloves. My husband was watching the entire time. The pain during three syringes draining 100 ccs of fluid was excruciating. No lidocaine was used no consent by me was given. Then when he finished he said tell your neurosurgeon… I removed 100ccs. I asked what happens if the fluid comes back. He said go to the ER. Protocol is that if more than 100 ccs needs to be drained . The drain needs to be reinserted. He Knew this and stopped at 100. Immediately after the procedure I had severe new pain in my lumbar spine. Within 24 hours the fluid was back in my spine, my pain was excruciating. 38 hours later I was in the ER with a 100.4 fever and was unable to walk due to 10 out of 10 pain. I was admitted to the hospital for6 days. I had the drain reinserted under extremely sanitary conditions in an operating room by a wonderful interventional radiologist. I was sedated and lidocaine was used. A CAT scan located the best location for drain insertion. My severe pain and fever resolved. I did develop a severe urinary infection as a result of neurogenic retention during this hospitalization. I am still dealing with severe consequences of Dr.Addona and his colleagues treating me like a paycheck versus a person/patient. He never came to see me or check on me after he caused me extreme pain, an infection , and an avoidable hospitalization. I suggest you never turn your back on this doctor without telling him no invasive procedures without permission.

My experience with Dr. Addona has been nothing but wonderful. I first met with him for a breast reduction consultation and during that first appointment he explained everything thoroughly and put my mind at ease. This caring and compassion continued to the day of surgery where he was encouraging, patient and supportive, to my post-op appointments where Dr. Addona was always willing to answer my questions whenever I needed. I am beyond happy with the results of my surgery and couldn't have asked for a better surgeon or person.

Once again outstanding service by Dr Addona. He is extremely patient and takes his time with is patients. He is not satisfied until he knows he answered all your questions. Dr Addona reminds me of the old school of medicine when alot of Drs Actually cared about there patients. He actually doesn’t mind spending 35-40 minutes with his patients which is kind of heard of in medicine today. Once again great job and I will send you a lot of clients. Kenny Reese
