Dr. Ringo was horrible and rude. Worst doctor experience I've ever had.

Genuine via her profession as a Physician yet attentive & caring

I came in to see Dr. Ringo for very mild acne. Aside from having her assistant inquire as to the medications I was currently taking, how I cleanse my skin, and my personal assessment of my skin type, no other information was requested as to my health history or habits. Dr. Ringo examined my face from a distance of approx one yard for about ten seconds and then told her assistant her medical opinion. She then proceeded to tell me that I will need to take prescription medication for the next three months and will also be given a topical gel; she had the courtesy to inform me that the pill has been known to interfere with hormone-mediated birth control. When I asked whether I would be required to take the pill for the full three month course, she said that it would not be necessary and some patients can discontinue the treatment after about a month and a half. Only upon my initiative to inquire, did she informed me that the pill was an antibiotic. Upon even further inquiry, she indicated… that in fact I could opt out of using the pill entirely, and could just use the gel ( although the results may be less dramatic). The fact that she decided to prescribe me an antibiotic in spite of the fact that it was not absolutely necessary and after a fairly cursory examination, in addition to the fact that she seemed to completely disregard the issue of prescribing antibiotics for a partial course which can lead to the serious issue of antibiotic resistant bacteria, made me question the reliability of her medical opinion. Because she did not even take the time to inquire whether I had any other concerns, her assistant had to call her back into the office to address another issue I had been intending to discuss with her. I felt that she treated me as a symptom at worst, as a patient at best, but certainly not as a person.
