Dr Farmer is very pleasant, listens to your concerns and spends time explaining options thoroughly. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a hand surgeon.

I give this a 10 Star rating!! Everyone was so nice and very friendly! Dr. Farmer was so amazing! I thank God for a staff that cares so much for their patients!! I would recommend this facility to any and everybody!!

Dr Farmer at Optim performed a repair on my left distal bicep tendon following a complete rupture. Optim worked diligently with my less than cooperative insurance to get me promptly scheduled at a facility that was in network. The surgery went great. My recovery is going better than expected. I just got the stitches out yesterday and nearly have full range of motion in my arm and its getting better every day. For comparison, i had this same procedure performed on my right arm 13 years ago while I was active duty. The process for getting in was slow and that dragged out my recovery. It took months after the surgery to get my range of motion back. My experience with Optim and Dr Farmer has been far better. My chief complaint and reason for giving four stars is because of the brace they sold me immediately after the injury. They charged $875 for a hinged brace which is available online for $120. After i got the bill i went back and showed them the price online. They said they could take… the charge off the account bit they have to take the brace back that i had been wearing for about a month. Wierd but ok. I just felt like the cost of the brace is inflated and akin to price gouging. To be clear, Dr Farmer gets five stars. I’d let him work in my family or me again any time and the next broken hand or wrist I will ask for him directly. Optim gets three stars because of the brace. Would have been two but they did clear the charge.

The Doctor is so thoughtful with a goal of eliminating pain.

Dr. Farmer is one of the kindest doctors I have ever met. He was very thorough and did not rush through the appointment His staff are wonderful, efficient and kind.

Staff efficient and cordial. Dr. Farmer takes time to listen and provides steps to resolve tendon issues including cortisone injections and possible surgical intervention when and/or if needed. Dr. Farmer has provided surgical intervention in the past. Would use him again when/if needed.

Everyone told me getting a steroid shot for a trigger finger was very painful. Dr. Farmer’s bedside manner and his nurse Margaret allowing me to hold onto her for dear life allowed me to leave the office wondering where was all the pain everyone was talking about?!

Dr. Farmer is an excellent hand specialist. He is very knowledgeable and a great communicator. He is very personable and easy to talk with. I was very confident with his analysis of the problem with my finger and recommended treatment. There is no one better in the Low Country.Dr. Farmer is an exceptional hand specialist. This is the second appointed with Dr. Farmer. He is very pleasant to speak with. He explained the issue with my thumb, treated it and it feels much better. I highly recommend him.
