Dr. Travis William Waltrip, MD

I was a new patient of Dr. Waltrip. During the initials screening Dr. Waltrip made some unethical requests about my past history insisting on information he was not legally or ethically entitled to. Upon my explanation that I was unwilling to share with him these personal details, I was shown the door. I begged to remain under treatment, but he preferred to push me out, rather than provide medical care.

I have been seeing Dr. Waltrip for more than a year and I'm so happy to have found a psychiatrist that really cares. He doesn't just write a prescription and kick me out the door like some doctors. He asks questions, looks back over notes, and even checks my weight. He has patiently worked with me to find the right medications, and I highly recommend him. Note: they don't accept cards, so remember to bring cash or check!

Dr. Waltrip said talking to me was useless since I was bipolar. He ignored the possibility of cerebral meningitis being a factor in my nervous breakdown two years later. He said I shouldn't breed but stay on lithium. If I got well, he'd lose a patient. So keep me sad. I passed an MMPI later in life. Go burn a BPHope magazine!

After 3 years of being asked "are you OK?" And "need a refill?" - it's wonderful to have someone who asks real questions and listens to the answers and spends about 45 minutes with me instead of just 5.

I was a patient of Dr. Waltrip for over 10 years and I believe I owe him for what I am today , alive and sane. Only reason I am not seeing him at present is because of driving distance

Dr Waltrip spends plenty of time with his patients so he can really understand and pinpoint what's going on with you. None of those drive through (15 minute) patient appontments! Finally I have found an excellent doctor for psychiatry.

One of the things I like about this doctor is that he is very straight and up from with me. I also find him incredibly easy to talk to.
