Dr. Troy Richard Damour, DO

I have had a good experience with Dr. D'Amour and his office staff. I have been seeing him for a few years and have no complaints about him or his staff.

Doc takes care of me and my family and we love him. He is a very nice man. Seems to really care about his patients.

We have had multiple bad experiences with this doctor over the years and with his staff. We finally fired him and have moved. on. I took my wife to see him once when she had the stomach flu. He wouldn't even come near her. He acted like he was afraid of catching something. On one occasion his "nurse" or flunky who was taking vitals used a blood pressure cuff but put incorrectly put the stethoscope above the cuff and then pretended to take the blood pressure. Whenever he orders tests it takes days upon days to get the results from him. Even though the lab gets the blood or xrays to him immediately or the next day you can't get anything out of his office because he's still "waiting" for it, even though when you call the lab or radiology they insist they have sent it to him days ago. Or his staff will say that he's "looking at it" and they won't release the results to you until he gives the okay. He refuses to send you to specialists when you need to be seen by specialists and he… ignores and/or refuses the requests of his patients, putting himself at risk for medical malpractice. He's very slow refilling prescriptions and often you run out before he gets them refilled. His staff has been known to be rude as well. Once in the exam room you can end up waiting a very long time for him to appear.

I would recommend Dr. D'Amour to anyone looking for a doctor in the 4-state area. I've been with him since his practice started in Joplin. I moved to NW Arkansas a few years ago and continue to put my health care in his hands. Wonderful staff too.Hope he doesn't retire anytime soon!!!

I would urge you to go to Dr. D'Amour. I recently moved to Arkansas from Joplin and found I didn't like some of the doctors I tried down there. I now happily drive back to Joplin for my appointments. When you find a good one don't leave them.

A good listener and well knowledged doctor. Troy was able to determine the issue my wife was having by the verbal description I gave him (confirmed by testing), when two other doctors in area totally misdiagnosed previously.
