Dr. Uneeda Marquettia Leverett, MD

When I was about 30 weeks pregnant (in a high-risk pregnancy; rife with complications that ended in emergency c section at 35+5) I started contracting. Dr Leverett and my nurse acted quickly and proficiently; immediately administered a med that stopped what I’m convinced would have been a preterm birth. Several weeks later I had a UTI that was once again making my uterus irritable. It was treated quickly with a safe antibiotic and likely kept my child growing in utero for a few more weeks. Dr Leverett always acted with my best interest and that of my child as her catalyst. I appreciate the world class care I received. I also appreciate that Dr Leverett was personable and able to engage in intellectual conversation. My daughter is a thriving, healthy toddler with no lingering effects of her late preterm birth in part because of the care we received from Dr Leverett.

Don't go reading the negative reviews and dismiss this doctor. Because that'd be a mistake. Dr. Levertte knows her stuff! When I went to her for my 1st pregnancy she always answered my questions, and made sure my major worries were resolved. Yes, she's not the type of Dr. that's going to sit and hold/cradle you during an appointment. I'm sure her schedule is a bit packed for all of that. But she is the kind of doctor who's going to inform you, treat you, look out for you and your child's best interest, and make sure you're well. I'm currently on my 2nd pregnancy and I'm going back to Dr. Levertte, no questions asked. Because she's awesome!

Dr. Leverett was my mothers Dr, my step mothers Dr (with twins) and she also was my Dr for BOTH my pregnancies. The other reviews are misleading- I would say.. She is a very busy woman and that should speak for itself! That is why she can't always have long and extremely attentive appointments. She has been delivering babies for a long time and she clearly does it well. I recommend her!!!

Hardly ever acknowledged the husband during visits, short and abrupt like she didn't like him.

This is they very WORST human being I have ever met. She is downright hateful and needs therapy or something. I was by my daughter's side the entire time during the birth of my grandchild. Dr Leverett was not her personal physician, but was the dr on call when she went into labor. You must consider that you may have to deal with this aweful woman who calls herself a physician. She threatened to "fire" and no longer care for my daughter when she was almost ready to deliver because she was in so much pain and wasn't responding the way Dr Leverett "thought" she should. Can you imagine the fear my daughter had sitting in a hospital bed in labor and having the doctor tell her she was no longer going to care for her if she didn't "straighten up"? In my opinion, this drs office needs to let her go. She represents them horribly. Just look at her bio on their website. All the other physicians have communication skills to explain why they love doing their job. This woman has been… described in reviews as a "robot". I think robots would treat humans much better!! There is obvious tension between her and ALL the nurses she works with. She demeans all of the staff who are scurrying around trying to help her out in a delivery. Nurses look like they are afraid of her or are about to cry when they have reported to her one thing, and in front of the patient she tells them they are wrong as if to try and put them in their place and establish that she is a doctor and they are "only nurses". This woman has never even felt the pain of childbirth. How dare she try and tell my daughter how to act, or she is going to abandon her. Even if she didn't "mean it that way", she should have NEVER put it like that. Don't go to her, and I would consider looking elsewhere if even choosing to have one of her colleagues deliver your baby because you might just get STUCK with this terrible excuse of a human being. She needs to get out of the medical profession all together and go work on computers or somewhere that requires NO human interaction! Let alone delivering babies, which should be one of the happiest most memorable times in your life. Don't let her ruin that time and that memory like she did for our family.

She has delivered all of my 3 children and now with a 4th on the way, I'm so excited to have her deliver this one. My experience has always been great, she takes time to always listen to my concerns, and always asks about my children that she has already delivered. My children were all born naturally and there was never a push to make me have a c-cection. She came in early and stayed late to deliver my children and to make sure I was taken care of after their births. She is very knowledgeable with any questions or concerns I've ever had. I feel very blessed to be in the care of the most caring Dr. I've ever had.

I thought she was a great doctor.she treated me good as her patient.she was stern but i liked that about her.she made sure the nurses did there job right cause the nurse i had at delivery time was not that great.people complain about her being short with them during check ups but what do you expect when she has tons of other patients to see.I am now pregnant again and i most definitely am going to use her again

She is rude,has horrible bedside manners.she never let me finish my sentences,always cut me off like she knew the answer to everything.she never looked at me when talking her face was always in the computer.she did not care talking about my concerns.tried to always make you feel stupid for any questions I ever had.not to mention she has a horrible case of OCD. She has to have matching everything on in order to be in a good mood.trust me do not pick this doctor.my boyfriend and I have recently switched doctors because she is so disrespectful, she acts like a robot, does not treat you like a human. She does not even know what its like to be pregnant!! She is also C-section happy, we want a natural delivery. Hope this helped.

I was so upset with how this doctor treated my daughter during labor and delivery. She appeared to be very short, harsh, and uncaring. My daughter was in transition when the doctor arrived and in extreem pain. The rn checked her and indicated that she was very close to being ready to push, indicating maybe another 5 minutes. The doctor came in and check my daughter and exclaimed ' you are no where near ready you need another 30 minutes '. As my daughter writhed in pain and cried out in disappointment and discouragement. She just walked out without any words of explanation or encouragment or comfort. Just hard and cold. This happened a couple more times adding up to a couple of hours as the dr kept saying she was not ready but my daughter felt the extreem need to push. Eventally the rn went to find the doctor and came back and said she had received permission to have my daughter push. As she pushed the babies head was crowning so the nurse went back to get the dr and she came… in and said 'She is no where near ready'. The nurse said, please just wait and see when she pushes. My daughter pushed and the dr saw that the baby was truely crowning so then proceeded to deliver him in a couple of pushes. Throughout the entire delivery, the dr was so hard and cold throughout. Never a smile, never a nice word. Just short and out of there.
