Dr. Ursula Stanton-Hicks, MD

I arrived at the Willoughby Hills campus on time (they have you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time for their convenience.) I had to go into two buildings to find her office (no directory outside). At check in I asked if my referral from my primary care doc had been received (which needed to be done before I could check in.) They directed me to the doctor's office to check in. The receptionist there was very helpful and it took her a few minutes to locate the referral. After she located it she informed me that since I was now late for my appointment time (four minutes late) the doctor refused to see me. She offered to reschedule the appointment and I declined. I refuse to see doctors who have such little regard for their patients.

Long waiting times, poor communicator, an attitude and I'm not coming back

Dr Hicks seems to have an attitude. I was seeing her at a length of time for my psoriasis. At one point I asked her to prescribe treatment by light for my psoriasis lesions. She has refused, saying that I should 'take care of [my] fungal infection first.' She showed no compassion; worse, she made me feel guilty for my condition. Only much later did I learn, from a doctor that worked for a different health care system, that fungus is secondary to psoriasis. I don't believe that Dr Hicks was unaware of this fact, however she had chosen to misrepresent it to me, which I think was unethical at best. Besides, she has never looked at some of my lesions located in the places not immediately seen. I wonder what she charted, but she has never taken a look. Bottom line, I do not recommend this doctor to anyone. Enough said.

There was a LONG wait for the first apptmt, but it was worth it. She cleared up my son's acne. She is creative in finding solutions where other Drs. stuck with the same treatment plan that clearly wasn't working. She and her staff are very kind and professional. There is very little wait time. We would highly recommend her.
