Double fellowship trained in complex spinal surgery, I believe in a holistic approach to patient care by involving patients and families in their treatment. Non-surgical treatment of spinal conditions should always be the first choice and surgical interventions should be carefully thought through. Success with any treatment modality goes beyond the treatment itself. I strongly believe in understanding a patient’s problem in context with their lifestyle, circumstances, and perspectives. It is only with such active engagement of patients in their care that we can enhance understanding of medical problems to reach realistic treatment goals and to meet their expectations. My career background as a family physician and specialized training in spinal surgery has afforded me the best of both worlds by striving to provide compassionate and loving patient-centered care. I have made an irrevocable commitment in my practice to treat every patient as my own kith and kin by making collaborative …and informed decisions to achieve the best outcomes. Spinal surgery is more than technical excellence, and there is no better specialty than spine to apply the famous saying: “good surgeons know how to operate, better ones when to operate, and the best when not to operate.” I have always lived with that motto to do what is best for my patients. That is my commitment and my promise.

I use state of the art technology for the best patient outcomes. I am a strong believer in performing minimally invasive surgery when appropriate for less pain and early discharge from hospital. Trained by leaders in spine surgery, I am adept at all aspects of spine surgery from the neck to the tail bone (sacrum).

I have research interests and have published articles in leading peer-reviewed medical journals. I am an associate editor for a nationally renowned journal-The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery and routinely peer review articles to determine suitability for publications.
