Dr. Vijayalakshmi Jayachandran, MD

She is absolutely awful. She makes it abundantly obvious that she is completely careless. She cancels appointments without telling you she's canceling. I told her of a side effect of my medication and she said that's not a side effect. She listed off two of the side effects and told me those are the only ones. The information sheet from pharmacist list 11 different side effects. Also the side effects that I've been having are published in several medical journals. The way she dismissedit with checking to confirmif she couldbe wrong was neglectful. Someone like her should definitely not be treating people that need mental help. She said if I did not ask her directly for my medication she could not prescribed them. I told her at the beginning of the conversation that the appointment was to refill my prescription. She seemed angery at me because I was frustrated she cancel the appointment and I could not get a hold of her receptionist at all to get my medicine refilled so I've been… going through a week and a half of withdrawal.

Dr. Vijay has been my doctor for 6 months and she has a way to help with understanding about treatments. I'm happy to have her as my doctor.

I have seen Dr. Vijay for over 10 years. She has helped me considerably. The office staff is always very friendly and I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes past my appointment time. I'm just so confused that the other reviews are so negative. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in......

Ripped me of Zoloft that I had been taking for years claiming there isn't any withdrawal problems with Zoloft. 3 ER visits and 30lbs lighter I ended up being admitted to the hospital. She claimed that it had nothing to do with the medication. Doctors found nothing wrong with me except being in withdrawal. I have more knowledge about medication than she does.

Entire experience was horrible. Was blindsided from the start having to pay for the entire visit out of pocket. She was 2 hours behind. My son was new patient and her greeting was cold, she gave me a limp hand shake. She talked on her phone and read her text while my son was talking to her. She was inflexible with follow up appointment, stated it will be done her way or she will close out the chart, sign him off! She stated she would never start a teenager on Latuda because it caused weight gain and that she would give him a sample of Abilify. She handed my son the sample in plastic bag. When we got home noted the sample she gave him was Latuda. Was told follow up appointments needed too be paid out of pocket, this is how Dr. Jayachandran operates and that I could probably set up a payment plan. This doctor is contracted with my insurance, does she not understand how this works? I am a Nurse and would never refer this person to any one.

Extremely disrespectful to staff and patients. Staff is great, she thinks she can be a dictator and disrespect them because she has the power to fire them. The therapists are fantastic, and the lady who works at the front desk is the kindest lady on the planet! I sincerely hope she can take a note and be nice! She isn't qualified to be in a position where it is important to understand the patients, because she never does. Plus, shes on her phone texting while you are talking to her, but she yells at you for being on your phone. She exaggerates and sometimes lies just so she can get her way. She judges the patients too, wouldnt recommend seeing HER but if you wanted to be in a recovery group it can definitely help you get better. I assume all the groups are similar. Vijay is a D, the therapists are an A. Vijay needs to get on some meds herself.

I switched from another clinic I went to for years, with very little help. Dr. Vijay Jayachandran, became my doctor here . She gave me the help I needed and soon I was going only 6 months for a check up.

Horribly run office!!! Office mgr should join the ranks of the unemployed based on her demeanor alone - she shouldn't work for any specialty, but especially not for a psychiatrist. I'm still utterly stunned by how churlish she was. Do yourself a favor; if you feel you need a psychiatrist's help, you don't need to be exposed to this office.

Witnessed a horrible situation with her. She kicked me out of her office for asking her simple questions about feeding medicine to everyone and anyone who asks. She was unprofessional and took what i said personal. I'd rather speak to a statue, it would definitely give me more support..then this worthless Detriment to society. Save yourself, DONT go to her.

I had tried others without being helped. Dr. Vijay was extremely caring, kind and helpful. Most of all, she was able to prescribe medication that helped my depression. "Talk therapy" helps some people, and they should see psychologists; psychiatrists do tend to use medication, and that's what I needed.
