Dr. Walanda V Smith, MD

I had just experienced a huge loss along with a decade of severe depression and anxiety with suicidal thoughts and long history of attempts. I knew I needed to take the step to see someone. She was the first psychologist I saw after moving to Arizona. After my first 2 appointments, she told me she couldn’t help me and I should go to a Children’s Hospital to see what real suffering was like. It was awful and I would never recommend Dr. Smith to anyone. She then said she would refer me to someone else and check on me after I was situated. Never heard from her again. 0/5 stars if I could. Should NOT be a practicing psychologist.

I have been struggling with anxiety, depression and anger for years. I finally step out of my comfort zone, find someone I THINK I may like and she 100% gave up on me on my first mistake. I made an appointment for the next day at 2pm, the next day there was an Emergency at work and wasn't able to call her until 2 minutes AFTER my appointment. She has refused to answer any of my calls or return any of my voicemails.

I highly recommend Dr. Smith. Over the years she has been my champion when I've needed support. Her clinical knowledge and compassionate care were just what I needed as I worked through some very challenging life experiences.
