Dr. Warren Reid Dunn, MD

Dr Dunn is very compassionate, caring, and communicaton is great. I like him a lot and would recommend him to anyone. He's Great!

I suffered from an unusual shoulder injury that evaded an accurate diagnosis for over 20 years and at least 5 other physicians over the years. I had to go through the entire gamut of treatment options in hopes of a solution. And each time - no one was able to even identify the root cause of my pain. Then I was able to get a referral to Dr. Dunn. He will remember my lower scapula injury. What I remember is that he identified the root cause problem with 1 visit and 1 MRI. His special instructions to the radiology techs led them to look in an area of the shoulder (scapula) where injuries are rare. Bottom line - 4 years later - no pain whatsoever and extremely appreciative of his skills. Dr Dunn identified and surgically repaired my shoulder. For me, he is a 1 percenter. He is the guy you go to when you need the very best. I call him a Super Doctor, as he deserves this title. Thank you Dr Dunn (Wausau patient).

Fortunately he didn’t perform surgery and was brought before the medical board.

While I was in surgery for a minor meniscus repair, Warren Dunn proceeded to perform a Micro-fracture procedure (drilling into my femur bone). He NEVER, EVER discussed that this could be a possible outcome of my meniscal trim surgery!! I woke up in recovery not being able to walk (non-weight bearing), no driving and crutches for 6 weeks. After much physical therapy, the procedure ended up FAILING to no surprise as the success rates in 45 y/o patients is dismal. I would never recommend him as a surgeon!! He ruined my knee-I have never been able to recover. Thank god I found Dr. Baer at UW, he was able to perform an OATS procedure after which I could walk and ride bike again.

Dr. Dunn replaced my right shoulder in 2014. Before doing the replacement surgery he worked with several other shoulder orthopods trying to avoid the total replacement. They couldn't fix my arthritic shoulder so we decided to do the replacement. After working with a great rehab PT for six months I have nearly full range of motion on that side. I thought this was normal until I talked with other shoulder replacement patients and showed it off to a number of orthopods. However, I was an ideal replacement candidate as there was no tearing of my rotator cuff, only severe osteoarthritis deteriotion of the joint. Great work by a great doc.

saw him just a minute before surgery and never saw him at all after surgery.

Fortunately there are second opinions, because Dr. Dunn misread my MRI. He didn't provide treatment alternatives for a fairly disabling knee injury.

Saw him for an issue I was having with my right arm. He diagnosed me with a frozen shoulder which my chiropractor and another orthopedic surgeon proved otherwise. My arm moved in every plane it was just in some movements it was catching. I came to him with an MRI which said I had tearing and expressed my concerns that his diagnosis was not addressing this. I had the radiologist re-read and list the slides which she found her findings and asked for him to look at the MRI one more time. My wife and I tried calling two weeks in a row and we eventually gave up. I saw another doctor which is well known for fixing shoulder injuries and he said right away what I had. Torn bicep tendon and slap lesions. After my surgery with the other doctor my wife called the hospital Dr. Dunn practices at to express our concern of what Dr. Dunn missed. He stuck to his original finding of a frozen shoulder which if you do any research the odds of a 26 year old man having a actual frozen shoulder with no… other damage is next to known I find appalling. He also stated the numerous times we called that none of are messages got back to him.He seemed like a really caring doctor and knowledgeable I personally just did not have the best experience seeing him.

Excellent bedside manner!! Very Professional. Highly recommended!!

so far he has been great . waiting for my next visit to find out more about my knee.
