My name is Amit Maini and I recently underwent an Eye Stye Drainage procedure at Total Eye Care, Buffalo Grove. The procedure was performed by Dr Wassia Khaza Ahmed. Although, it was a short duration process but extremely painful and my vision was impacted for several hours due to a fluid injected in my eye to numb it. I was assured that my eye stye would be completely gone after the surgery. I was prescribed an after care ointment for 1 week after the surgery. Even after two months, the eye bump did not disappear and from a cosmetic perspective, it still looked the same to me. Though disppointed, I contacted the office again and scheduled an appointment for another painful procedure. As required for the surgery, Dr injected a fluid in my eye to make it numb, which caused extreme blurriness and irritation. Now just as I was heading to the room for the procedure, I was encountered by the lady from billing asking me to pay for the previous balance and she was extremely rude. She said… that I could only go for surgery as long as I clear the previous balance. She was completely unemphatetic of the fact that there was fluid in my eye and I was already in a lot of pain. I questioned their professional way and she was adamant. I have never been so humiliated before. I have never defaulted on any kind of medical bill payment but this has never happened if a practice denied service due to outstanding balance. First off, I was already dissatisfied as first time procedure was not done properly and to make it worse, their office staff treats patients in such a rude way. This is so unacceptable. I will file complaint further to ensure same thing would not impact another patient.

Dr. Khaja is a brilliant ophthalmologist who is very sensitive and caring. I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to have her perform my cataract surgery. I would highly, highly recommend her to anyone who needs a eye specialist.

She's great. Very professional and warm personably at the same time. I'm very satisfied with the results of my blepharoplasty, so she must also be an excellent surgeon!
