Dr. Wayarne Acquan Harlan, MD

Terrible experience. I saw Dr. Harlan because I had an urgent issue and my regular OBGYN wasn’t available. She acted like my concerns were silly and clearly hadn’t read over my chart to see the RECENT issues I’d been having. Talked down to me and over me the entire time. Didn’t let me explain my concerns or ask if I had any questions. I have never felt so dismissed and will never see her again.

Went to her for the first time because my normal obgyn retired and it was an absolute horrible experience. After I told her my concerns she told me to get into the gown and to just shout when I’m done because she’d be right out side of the door. I didn’t even take a full five minutes to get in the gown but in that time she opened the door at least three times to peek her head in to see if I was done already making me uncomfortable and when I was done she made me sit there waiting while she talked about orgasms right outside my door. Once the exam started she pretty much ignored my existence once my legs were up on the table as she was having a conversation with her nurse about seeing each other outside of work. I’m not a sexually active person I don’t even use tampons so when she inserted her tool it hurt and I tensed a bit and when I told her it hurt she continued to ignore me and continue with her conversation this time about what their eating for lunch. She only acknowledged me when… she turned her head towards me to snap at me telling me to either relax or she will stop the exam. Once the exam was over her and her nurse went to leave the room telling me to get dressed I had to take a second to myself to just cry because for a second there I felt like an object more than a person. I 100% do not plan on going back or recommend going.

I am still traumatized after years of this happening to me. She was not my regular doctor, but I was having a few issues with my weight and period. She would not listen to me and kept saying I was lying about being a virgin. She continuously told me I was lying and made me take my pants off for a "check." I do not recall her even putting gloves on, nor was there a nurse in the room. I was underage and she forced half her hand inside me. I have a history of sexual abuse (molestation), and this brought back horrible memories. After a few seconds of "checking" me, she pulled her hand out and didn't say a word to me. I'm guessing my hymen was still intact and she didn't want to admit she was wrong? Either way, I think about this day all the time. I now know this was illegal and absolutely rape. I still can't get over how she is still a doctor and seeing these reviews of her. I decided to finally come forward because I have a daughter of my own and am now pregnant again. I am petrified that… I will somehow come across her in the building. I am also in the sexual abuse field now and want it to be known what she did to me. Do not trust her with your daughters, always go to the appointment with your child if you somehow have her as a doctor. I will never forget my experience, but I'm sure it was just another day for her.

She was about to do a full colposcopy procedure on me but forgot I was pregnant!!! That tells me she didn’t even look at my charts before she walked in the room. I do not recommend.

Should’ve listened to the reviews I read... no compassion or bedside manner. Had me in stirrups, exposed, and made her nurse leave the room to get something! The whole office could see me. Terrible. Left my appointment in tears.

Rude and obnoxious then after I left she went write notes in my chart that she don’t even have degree for!!

I told her I had not been sexually active. She said it looked like I was lying, STD tested without my knowledge, and then when everything came back negative she offered no help for my symptoms.

I've been going to Dr. Harlan for years because she is through and professional and overall gives me total care. She has decades of experience in her profession which makes me feel secure.. I would definitely recommend her.

Went in for a follow up after miscarriage, and had a horrible experience. Dr. Harlan apparently hadn't checked my records from the ER because she was not up to date on my current condition and was about to perform a D&C which I didn't need. She was ready to walk out the door before giving us a chance to ask questions and did end up walking out while my husband and I still had questions. She was not helpful or sympathetic.

I am now 59 yrs old and have seen Dr. Harlan about every other year for GYN exams and referrals for mamograms. She has always been professional, attentive, and seemed to care about me and any concerns I've had. I've had no major gyn related problems but I feel confident that she would provide excellent treatment if it's ever necessary. I can't think of another gyn that I would want to go to.
