Dr. Wayne Layton Wittenberg, MD

Dr Wittenberg is a winderful surgeon. I had surgery on my L5S1 in 2003 in Colorado. It took a lot of time to recover but here i am almost 20 years later pain free. I need neck surgery but do not trust the health system in Florida where I live now. I was hoping he was still there for this surgery. The only thing I did not like was how rude his wife was most of the time. She was horrible to deal with and unfortunately most of the time she was the one you dealt with. Brilliant surgeon though.

Dr. Wittenberg did my back surgery on L3 L4 L5. 10 yrs. later I am pain free still. Actually I was close to pain free when I woke up. I highly recommend him. His bedside manner was great. His explanations were in terms I could understand. All the way around a GOOD doctor

Surgery went well only seen dr 2 times total,his nurse was very rude and wrote me a prescription for diazeapam,wich I was already receiving from another dr,this caused red flag at pharmacy,she plainly had a read out of all my medications in front of her while I was in her office. She then proceed to call me and be very rude telling me I wouldn't be receiving anymore medication from them,this is 2 weeks post op,so I am on the look out for a new dr. This place is ridiculous.

I had my first cervical fusion in Grand Rapids MI by a Dr I considered the best and all went well. Several years later I needed two additional fusions and found Dr Wittenberg in FL through many happy ex-patients. When he go into the surgery, he discovered that my previous surgery had prompted a several inchs long bone spur to grow within the spinal canal. What should have taken a couple hours took many more and was very complicated, but I came out of it fine after physical therapy and lots of recovery time. I truely feel that I would be handicapped but for his wonderful, capable skills. His new location is very lucky to have him, and I worry who I'll go to if I have need of a neurosurgeon again.

I had 2 spine surgeries from Dr. Wittenberg one 2006and one 2008 both surgeies were very complicated I had no worries at all Dr Wayne is so professional he does his surgries like a poet writing his lyrics. I sure wish e was still in Florida I really miss him

I had a complication after my surgery and ended up in the hospital for a week after the surgery with an infection on both surgery sites and drains in my back. After the second surgery one of his PA's took care of me. He went on vacation. When I was discharged the PA took the drains out without numbing or anything and she just pulled them out. I had so much pain I got sick and had to stay an extra 2 or 3 hours to make sure I was okay to leave.

This docter has the most wonderful staff and great caring for you! I believe that he is caring for you! To anyone I would refer this doctor!

His office staff is great, and very prompt for whatever you need! Sadly, you never see him, just his wife. I had a spinal fusion that he told me I should get because of a painful herniated disk. Since the surgery I have been in MUCH more pain than I was prior to! The story is long, but I wouldn't recommend this Doctor to anyone. He seems not to care about you, and that is just not how it should be. At first I thought he was great, but because of his actions since the surgery, and because of the amount of pain I am in now, I wish I could go back in time!

These are the words that come to mind when I think of Dr. Wayne Wittenberg.I was in pain for 4 years when I met Dr. Wittenberg. There was something about this man that made me instinctively know that I was not only in good hands...but the best. He did a Spinal Fusion on me and so far, it has been great. I am not in pain other than the normal healing process and I feel like Dr. Wittenberg has given me my life back.I have not come in contact with too many people in life that gave me the feeling that they were put on this earth by God to do important work and do it with love and kindness of spirit. This a a very special human being.

Dr. wittenburg performed a bi-fronatal craniotomy on my husband.He was professional, caring and told me what to expaect at each turn. The bonus here is his wife Carol,who is always there for us...even months after the successful surgery.
