Dr. Wei-Yuan Shieh, MD

Dr. Shieh is a very caring, knowledgeable and supportive doctor. He has been my gynecologist since I moved to NY. Very nice and friendly.

please stay away from this doctor. I went to him several times the past two years complaining of pelvic pain. Each visit he brushed me off hurriedly and didnt do a thorough exam/analysis in order to quickly move on to the next patient I should have stopped seeing him sooner than i did. now i found out i have uterine cancer. please please stay away from this doctor.

I have been with Dr. Shieh for many years and he has delivered 3 of my children. He is compassionate, kind, and every time I see him, he takes the time to hear what I have to say and help me with my issues. Where as my other doctors rush me in and out, it is refreshing to have a doctor who listens and cares about my feelings.

Dr. Shieh was the first gynecologist I went to in the city having just moved into the city, and I was completely shocked. I went in with high hopes, as it was relatively easy to secure an appointment and I didn't have to wait long, but as my appointment progressed I quickly saw why. I had wanted to discuss my options for the types of medication available to me, but he didn't really answer my questions on possible alternatives and side effects, but just chose one and kept repeating that 'it was the best.' Secondly, my testing results actually came back with abnormal results. When he told me this, the second sentence he told me was that he couldn't help me, and that I had to find another doctor. I was shocked at his dismissive attitude, unprofessionalism, and that he could so blatantly show that he really couldn't care less about my feelings and my health. I have never met a doctor so callous and irresponsible and would advise against anyone going to see him. I later went to a… doctor on the UES through a friend's recommendation and she was great, taking the time to explain the ramifications of the test results and my alternatives.
