Dr Wendy Froehlich-Santino, MD

We had a previous psychiatrist who kept raising the dose or prescribing related medications for my older daughter's ADHD that left her increasingly depressed and suicidal. I can't thank Dr. Froehlich enough for listening to my concerns and agreeing to opt for a completely different pharmacological approach. My older child is now a Freshman in High School and has developed the autonomy she needs to succeed with the support she was given. We had such a great experience that we brought our younger daughter to her, who experiences severe anxiety and mild ADD symptoms. She, too, is now on just the right medicine to support her as she learns to deal with her issues. I am very surprised by the review I read from another parent. I have always found Dr. Froelich to be a great listener when working with me or the girls. She responds quickly to any questions I send through the portal and I recommend her to anyone who asks about a good ADHD psychiatrist. She did explore diagnoses I didn't… think were applicable, but isn't that why we consult experts? In the end, her choices were absolutely for the best. My daughters are both now stable and happy. That's all anyone wants for their children!

She made her mind up about my teen daughter's diagnosis even though my teen and I stated over and over again something else was occurring as well. She insisted we put her in a treatment facility or else it would be "unethical" for her to continue as her doctor. She also condescendingly asked how long were we going to "chase" medical tests to get the answers we wanted. Also, her appts. are 20 or 30 minutes, which to me is just getting warm bodies through the office. It took me longer to drive to her office than it took for the visit, which was fine for me but try getting your sensory challenged child to go for that! She went on maternity leave and we never returned. We found another doctor, who on the first visit, diagnosed her to a "T". But in fairness, she's pleasant and on time. My teen had a specific issue with meds and she worked closely with us so she did not have any adverse reactions. If you're in need of a doctor to perform monthly checks on you and dispense meds, she's… perfect.
