Dr. William A Burch, MD

More than 3 years since I last visited Dr. Burch, I just got back from spending a day in the ER and a five-figure bill, thanks to internal injuries and ongoing complications from Burch's butchering. He's careless, reckless, and unstable. A real Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Dr. Burch is dangerous, even for simple, routine care, given his mental and emotional problems and addictions. He should be suspended for life.

Yes heâ??s permanently suspended 7 mos. ago. But Iâ??m writing this now because its probably the only satisfaction Iâ??ll get after being disabled disfigured almost died from Burchâ??s botched work. Read the board shocking final hearings from December. Burch didnâ??t even show, so you know the long list of proven charges is only tip of the iceberg. My new (competent sober) doctors say Iâ??m lucky to be alive but likely have permanent injury and disability. Now that Burch disappeared, thereâ??s practically zero chance of holding him responsible for the horrors he did to me. As for five star reviews, you know their fake when they completely ignore all the lies and horrible things, no sane patient would do that. His practice was built on pathalogical deceit even the little stuff. He made us thinking he got his masters and MD from top medical school in the US on his website when it was somewhere ? offshore. From there it just got worse. Now Iâ??ll be paying for his lies and sicknesses… probably rest of my life.

Terrible doctor, almost took my life me. Had to have several urgent procedures to save my life after he did his best otherwise. Terrible terrible doctor.

I'll keep it simple and straight from the board's summary suspension: Dr. Burch refused to comply with required rehab, tested positive for methamphetamine, cocaine, and alcohol, wrote prescriptions for controlled substances while he was prohibited from practicing medicine, put patients in danger using medications without testing and follow-through and records, and abandoned patients leaving them hanging. Five charges in all. He already had a standing reprimend from the board for prior illegal substance abuse and, yes, pattern of violent criminal activities, convicted on all four of those charges as well as others have noted. How this all went on so long is beyond me and the board should be ashamed. Addiction is a serious disease, as are mental and emotional problems. So get people the help they need, but don't let doctors practice medicine including surgery on mommas and babies in this condition.

Seriously ladies, read the latest board action. NOT 5 stars but 5 strikes. Five MORE charges against Dr. Burch, incl. his license suspended Oct 30 to protect "the public health or safety.â?? 1. kicked out of mandatory rehab, 2. speed, coke & alcohol (again), 3. prescribing controlled substances while barred from practicing medicine, 4. endangering patients, 5. patient abandonment. All this on top of the earlier reprimand, coke & alcohol use, and his terrifying pattern of behaviors, incl. four guilty findings. If this is your idea of a 5 star doc, Iâ??d hate to see your version of a 3 star doc or heaven forbid a 1 star doc. To be fair he was an ok doc sometimes when sober, but sorry ladies not that great, no one is. And would you really want his home number given all the above? When this sort of info has been public for more than a year, glossing over all this is irresponsible & will get more people hurt. This is tragic. I seriously hope Dr. Burch gets the help he needs before more… harm is done to anyone, including to himself. P.S. I am saddened and dismayed at the recent troubles of Dr. Burch. He delivered my daughter Briana in 2011, I have nothing but good things to say about my experience. He was always very processional, courteous and had a wonderful bedside manner. I was an older first time mom with a high risk pregnancy. He even gave me his home number so I could reach him anytime. He was also very knowledgeable he knew what he was doing....trust me I know I am a registered nurse and I grilled all the doctors involved in my pregnancy, because i was high risk. I am sorry his personal issues cost him his license. Dr. Burch. if you ever read this, I pray that you receive the help that you need and you can once again become the brilliant man God has called you to be. My prayers go out to you and your family as well as your former staff.

Dr Burch spent a lot of time making sure I understand how my body works and why a diagnosis is temporary to appreciate your body and take care of it, not just your reproductive parts but your health as a whole. He took time to make sure I understood everything and told me to call if I have any questions and he will call back after office hours. No doctor has EVER offered to do that.

Came to this website because I heard he wasn't seeing patients. I was his patient few years ago, he was nicesnd professional. Friendly staff. These comments I'm reading are not what I experienced. I

As patient and community member I'm tired disgusted and suspiciuos of supposed patient reviews defending doctors bad behaviors. WHo would do that and why !? Especially ignoring and careless heartless attitudes towards those harmed. I mean really !? I can only imagine what they've been through and continue to. These aren't accusations but facts. We're supposed to believe someones surprised that current former potential patients might be upset & concerned to high light doctors official court violent crimina records and medical board repremand ect. As patient thats the first, most thing I'd want to know and for others too. And claiming the info is not true, wow good luck with that. Its instantly easy to check online, I just did. What and how !? info would a patient have that charges arent true, against official public court and medical records. Pretty strange, it sounds awfuly defensive and nothing but hot air. Every one may have their own opinions but not to make up their own supposed… facts. The whole situation is sad and my prayers go to every one involved.

I have read the recent substance abuse claims in which I am shocked. I can tell you the good reviews are not fake. If you go to his office their are letters of thanks and patient cards everywhere. Patients love him. He took care of me and my son during my first pregnancy. He was absolutely wonderful. His staff was absolutely wonderful and his nurse practitioner. He always explained procedures and diagnoses with me. He was very kind and thorough. He was very concerned about my health and explained the details of it in depth to me. He was always on my side throughout my pregnancy and afterwards. I find his recent trouble very sad. I don't know what happened in his personal life that led to these charges.
