Dr. William Victor Burlingame, PhD

I was a patient of Dr. Burlingame's many years ago for adolescent adjustment. I am sorry to say I have learned he passed away. There were times when I felt he was the only and best friend I had, and as a therapist and administrator of the first NC unit for treatment of adolescents at JUH so long ago he was truly a trailblazer and a compassionate professional. RIP

I wrote a review here of Dr. Burlingame that was genuine, but based on new information I believe that my review was inaccurate. I asked them to delete it but they won't. I saw Dr. Burlingame for many years and something hurtful happened at the end and perhaps he wasn't perfect, but based on what I now know I believe he is a good man. My situation was unusual, and I hope you will consider other reviews rather than that one.

I saw him for many years, and am now older. He betrayed me in a way that was very hurtful, going behind my back to talk to others I know and encourage them to do something to hurt me. These years later, it's too late to do much about it other than just to warn others to stay away.

Dr. Burlingame worked with my family for 5 years, and he was excellent in truly learning about each of us, and the dysfunctionalities that we contributed to the relationship. Overall, he was able to help me work past and through my family, and his support and guidance gave me the self-confidence to improve myself and excel in college.
