Dr. William Andrew Cies, MD

I went in for a second opinion and was told I was putting barriers up that prevented providers from helping me. I was then told to “suck it up” and pay for an eye drop that’s not covered by my insurance and to use eye ointment that has been ineffective. Never asked about my general health which may or may not contribute to my symptoms and when I told him about other issues, he was very dismissive and condescending. I would never go back to Dr. Cies nor would I recommend anyone to this office.

Dr. Cies REVIEW I have been going to Dr. Cies for several years and recently diagnosed with Glaucoma, so my visits have become more frequent. At one point, when I couldn't get an appt with Dr. Cies couldn't, they suggested seeing Dr. Kurteeva, who I remained with until she left the practice. Most visits I had to wait more than 30-45 minutes until the doctor eventually came in. Now, after going back to Dr. Cies on the first visit, I asked if he could provide any samples of the eye drops because they are very expensive. Instead of getting any samples I received a very condescending and embarrassing lecture. Later in the visit he tried to be a little nicer, perhaps realizing how rude he had been. Every visit with Dr. Cies has been close to an hour or more wait. Not once, but "every" time. It is really disrespectful of my time as I have to work for a living to and lost time is lost money. My last visit I waited almost 2 hours and never saw Dr. Cies. First I waited… I sat in the waiting room over 1 hour until I complained. Then they brought me back to a room, took my eye pressure & a photo and keep me waiting yet another 45 minutes until I eventually walked out. The doctor never set foot in the room even once to apologize for an emergency or otherwise they still got paid in full from medicare! After a bit of research my wife & I found an amazing Ophthalmologist in the area. Our first appointment was a shocking eye opener how meticulously thorough he was and with the most high tech equipment. He also took the time to explain everything in excruciating detail. We had first class care with his staff and felt that our time was fairly respected. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We only wish it had happened sooner. We now realize the limited level of care we were receiving with Dr. Cies.

After researching a bit, my wife & I found a new Ophthalmologist in the area and after one visit we knew this was a blessing in disguise. Besides getting first class attention, the doctor was was unbelievably thorough with the latest of high tech equipment and took plenty of time to explain everything in great detail. I only wish this had happened sooner. Dr. Cies evaluations, tests & explanations never even came close to what I am receiving with our new Doctor.

I cannot praise Dr. Cies and his wonderful staff enough. The outcome of the surgery is nothing less than miraculous.
